Anyone who knows me, knows my love of prog rock, bands like RUSH and tool, YES, Genesis, And lots of 70s stuff. I also do like a lot of classic rock too. I do like led zeppelin, old Aerosmith 70s, I also like high vocals, from rush to placebo to the legendary pink dots. My favorite vocalists can sing high. This is one side of the box of my musical taste.
Why is VAC all over the place when you listen to an lp? Its because So many musical styles are on in my brain when i write. I like this video.
For as young as this band is, its actually amazing… Someone making organic rock music again is so refreshing in this day and age. Is this the end all be all of new music? No, but finaly i can listen to something and feel nostalgic without cringing.
Behringer is at it again, The synths i desired the most when i was younger was the Roland SH-5 and SH-7. So hard to find and so expensive. Now, Behringer is remaking the sh-5. Eat static loves this synth and uses it on a lot of their music. I always wanted that bandpass filter. Plus it has a ring mod. So quirky sounding but very musical.
Behringer is also making the polivoks. Another synth i wanted when i was younger.
I had the polivoks filter in my modular setup when I made the art of breaking apart. I really liked it. I do not care for modular, they never stay in tune or in tracking. I care about harmony and melody so tuning is important to me.
Listen to jexus with the polivoks. And you know why i lust for this synth,
With the Pro-800, UB-XA, And these two new mono synths. Its wow wow wow. And you will not have to break your bank account. I just hope these are better than the monopoly they did, because they made the monopoly to dark compared to the original.
UPDATE: So its not the polivoks but a new Behringer synth being designed with the maker of the polivoks.
The modulations is where you see the old synths shine. and why i hope Behringer doesn’t do what dsi aka sequential has done and why i sold every dsi synth i have ever owned, the modulations like on lfo go about 2 octaves instead of 5 like on jupiter 6. This video explains it, if you can sit through it.
Its why i sold the pro 3 and went back to the Behringer pro 1, neutron, and model d. Because the fm and sync is way better on the Behringer gear. Now if the Pro-800 and UB-XA have good modulations like their mono synths then wow is DSI in trouble.
FM on dsi is garbage. Software can do this, but fm on software sounds very lofi and dull and crunchy. This is where analog distortion in modulation wins. The clarity and hi fi nature is in analog but not digital on heavily modulated sounds, this is often why real modular synths are preferred over chip based analog too, it can sound even more hifi.
COD and WARZONE has weened me off of Socom Confrontation, Socom 2, Socom Combined assault. I just have 0 fun playing socom now. I loved confrontation, but after the ranking update the game runs worse, bad framerates. After grinding multiplayer on cold war to unlock weapons for warzone, i started to realize that hard core search and destroy is socom enough for me when i want that kind of game. Also team death match is something I really love. I am good at it. I am usually at the top of the board when i play it. Its a lot more fun, and it plays with a high frame rate, with way better graphics, and now with low fan noise(ps4 pro) and in 4k with raytracing on the ps5, which i love. Zippy fast aiming too. Responsive, unlike socom when the frame rate drops The old ps2 socom games are so dated and bad that i cannot stand them i tried so hard to like them, and i just do not see what people like about socom 2 or any of the ps2 titles, the single player games are good, but multiplayer is bah, bad hit detection, slow stiff unsmooth controls. Uhg, on my pc an i9 rx 580 it runs bad. even at default settings.
I hope now there is no new socom game. After playing with the die hard socom people for the last 4 months, i know they do not want it. They want s2 hd, or conf on ps5. I just hope there is a tactical shooter from sony that is good and fun. Thats enough for me, something like caliber, or a r6 siege. I still play r6 too and on ps5 it is excellent.
The ps3 is kind of boring, if you could play confrontation with a pc emulator and run in higher frame rate, that game would rock.
I really want this synth. I wish i was programing sounds for Behringer. Wish I could get a beta unit and make demos. One can dream. I do want the Pro-800 more though. Because it will fit right in my rack. And be 599. Listen to the warmth and massive sound of the bass swell patch. WOW. Very Growly.
Finally got a ps5, I didnt think i wanted one but i was finally able to get one so i did. This games was one of the reasons why. I still own tons of ps4 games and they all run even better on the ps5. And i really want to play the next god of WAR.. Plus i still play COD and R6 and they run amazing on the ps5. PC and ps5 will be my gaming path forward. Now if only I can find a video card are the msrp price, i was thinking an AMD rx 6800..
So far i love the ps5. Everything runs great on it. Dual Sense is the best hardware controller ever, i especially notice in on cold war. Now i need to sell more records to pay help pay for the $70 games yikes.
Caliber is free and on Windows 10. Mouse and Keyboard only. Warning, This is an update. I have since stopped playing Caliber because the North American Servers are dead, and that is the only game as an american you can get a low enough ping to compete without being shot behind walls. So the only games you can play are against Russians on Russian servers, who have been playing the game for almost 2 years. Its not pretty.
Caliber is like Siege and Confrontation had a baby. It has tight gunplay like r6, and 3rd person like socom 4, but plays more like Confrontation. Some say old ghost recon but the game modes are more like Socom. Is this a replacement for socom? NO but it is scratching my itch for a new ps5 Socom game.
One bad thing is that you have to play story missions until you are level 4 to see the socom like experience. So do not give up until you play to level 4, because that is when the real game begins. The other bad thing is if you don’t play in russian servers, you might have to wait a long time to get into a match but if you can get a team of 4 together, you can zoom fast into matches on the north american servers. Just not super late at night.
There are character classes, but you do not need them to win like many complainers claim, If you level up the stock characters, you can wreck anyone if you are good and play as a team.
What i love about the game, is the characters, and the strategy of the game, you have to manage your stamina because it is tied to your super abilities, and your ability to run. Assault class has most stamina, then support, then sniper, then medic. You have to reload after rounds at reload stations that are timed but are plenty around each map. Unlocking characters by grinding can take a long time.
The pay system is expensive. But i think that is because it is in the beta and this is a free game and they have to fund it some how, and not a lot of people are playing it yet, and they are not on a huge distributor who runs ads for them. So right now this is a word of mouth game. I do not blame them at all for how expensive coins are. I hope they do make things cheaper in the future though.
I can play this game over and over just like i did with Socom and R6 siege. The aiming is tight, I have a i9 9900k with a radeon rx 580, 16gb system ram and m2 drive. This game in 1080p on my system is getting about 100 frames a second. That is with my old video card too which is comparable to a rtx 1060.
You must play as a team and use coms, we usually rock Discord chat with our teams. This helps a lot, but you can talk in game with the G button if you have a headset. I play mostly as Medic. As i do in Battle field 4. Or Doc and finka in r6. I love tactile shooters and Caliber just might be the best playing Strategic Shooter I have ever played. I think it is more fun than Siege and Socom. Maybe because it is new. But really this is it! The Game Mechanics are tight and spot on.
I give it a 8 out of 10 for Russians, and 5 out of 10 For Americans.. I will update my score once the game is released. I just hope they make items in the game Cheaper.

My favorite Siouxsie LP is The Tinderbox. I love the guitar work so much on it. I love when the song breaks down, and this is the kind of guitar work i love to play the most when I write. Mesmerizing. They don’t make music like this anymore… I got into Siouxsie way after the cure, in my late 20s, as to where i was into the cure when i was much younger.
When I was growing up i used to see devo videos all the time on my local pbs station. This music was a huge influence on me when i was younger, and i preferred Devo to Kraftwerk any day of the week. This was the American Kraftwerk.
They had a Vhs video thing that was was amazing that i watched a lot too. The singer also was part of the Church of the Sub Genius. I used to drop acid and watch that.
This is the band that actually made VAC start more than any other. This idea that with a drum machine you could basically do anything. I still love the old Sisters, up to floodland. After floodland I could care less. This was the sound track to my teen years. And the first Alternative band I was ever exposed to. Old VAC was all bases on the DR 660 drum machine. I still use sounds from this drum machine now.
The sisters are not goth, they are the sisters. They are loved by goths but also appeal to people outside goth culture. Much like the cure is not goth, they are the cure.
Ahhhh, Curve, a band that is so under rated and I still listen to it to this day.
We tried to get The singer of this band to sing to slut. Ahhh so close but fell through, oh i wish it hadnt… Even though it was still one of our biggest hits..
I saw this video when i was on acid with an X from a long long time ago when i used to wear skirts and have huge goth hair… Oh those old days, the beginning days of VAC. And believe it or not Curve was a BIG influence on us.
Yay, got the se02, Pro-1, and a bunch good software, massive x, spire, arturia 8, dune 3, and lots more. Working on new songs, drums with battery and outboard quadraverb gt and gsp5 should get me into that old VAC sound nicely. Picked up a akai MIDImix Control Surface(to control and program my soft synths, and it didn’t work just like the korg nanokontrol2, those are for abelton)). Got Vaccinated, first shot, will get second shot in 20 days, I hope shows will happen this fall. If not then i hope in 2022. I miss playing shows more than anything, and our time touring for Ora Oblivionis got cut short Sadly because of covid.
I think I will be streaming newer ps4 and ps5 games more than PS3 games. Not many new games really make me happy at the moment, not sure if I will have a ps5 this year 🙁
I am working on Patreon content and post old stuff to my YouTube. I want to get more watch hours on my YouTube account so I can monetize my YouTube. I thought about a twitch channel, but honestly I do not just want to stream games and YouTube is a better fit for the vast sorts of media i need to publish.
