Nice, I love the Alien franchise.

I've heard some things about this game that do sound cool (No HUD and an upgrade system) but given this franchise's history in gaming, I'm still sort of expecting a run of the mill shooter that will be forgotten less than a year after its release.

Except for the fact that AvP and AvP 2 are two of the greatest games ever made. Shit, even the newest one wasn't terrible, and they're going to look like Barney the Dinosaur in comparison to this on the atmosphere scale.

I trust Gearbox to make a good game.

I disagree heartily. The recent AVP was garbage and the old ones weren't that impressive.

As for atmosphere, I certainly don't see it from any prerelease information. And what the fuck has Gearbox done that was worthwhile? Far as I can tell they've done nothing but generic WW2 shooters, Bordlerlands (which was good) and stitching together 3D Realms' table scraps on that horrendous Duke Nukem game.

Original AvP2 was real fun multiplayer. The balance between everything worked well and you could have some major fun regardless of which class you were.

The predator's disc was the only questionable aspect of AvP2 and many servers wouldn't even allow you to use it.
