No analog sequencer on Boomstars, though. Boomstar looks better on paper, but the sound examples of Leipzig speak volumes. The overall tone is more important than the specs.

I have heard really bad things about that company who makes them, cheap parts, not reliable. analog solutions or what not.

That's a shame... I hate it when companies take the piss like that. Those things should be really well made, I mean, you're going to be using them hours on end, and they are not all that cheap. It says a lot about the old Roland stuff. Gear that, if you look after it, it can still be used 20 years down the line.

It's a real pity...As the Leipsig sounds lovely imo. I might email one of my online buddies who has had one for a while, and ask him about the build quality.

I've only owned a Red Square V1 semi-modular that they made. The build quality wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad. The sound was great. Of all the new analogs I've tried, it was the only one that sounded like the oldies. Had kind of a Roland System 100 vibe about it, very fluid with a nice variance. The resonance trim needed adjusting though, it was peculiar..would turn it without much result, suddenly - screeching resonance.would go to extreme screeching resonance very quickly and I've heard this is something common to many AS synths. The PWM would also do nothing until about 50%. Don't know if that was intentional or a design flaw.

I do think the sound of the Liepsig is lovely, I've got to say... I'm totally loving my Nord, so I reckon a synth like this for bass (or something along similar lines) would really complement the Clavia. But as I don't have much money I gotta make a good (or right) choice. :)

For mono synths, i want fat bass and resonant leads that cut and drive. This is why i want the boomstar.

Hey! That's exactly what I want too... :) May sound a silly question, but there's a few models on their site. So which one are ya' going for in particular, if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers,

R.

Right, that'd be sweet... Pretty decent price as well, when you add them up against something like a T.I II.

Nice one.
