 Hunger Games (and the Media)
Is it just me or does this movie seem to have been shamelessly promoted more than the average shitpile?
It's as if everything "media-wise" has done what they can to somehow, "subtly", inject this movie into the masses consciousness before it was released. Now they are bragging about weekend ticket sales. Really? Is it that much of a surprise considering how many journalists you paid to write stories on it before release? How many sites you had infiltrated with viral "Hunger Games" shit? The interviews and the big hooplah on the newbie actors in it?
Who the FUCK CARES!!!
Seriously man. If I had cable tv and I sat and watched it for a day, I'd fucking kill myself. I see media's attempt at infiltrating the consciousness of the masses enough online but TV it's just NON-STOP! EVERY "agenda" you can list, is prominently at work and active in TV Dramas and shows. Product commercials are the perfect example of what marketing people think people like or "think" like. It's condescending and it's sickening. What's worse is that it works! IT FUCKING WORKS!!
Sometimes I can't help being a negative asshole when it comes to this shit and I agree with Bryan about society (at times). This shit really fucking pisses me off.
Why are people so easily manipulated? THINK FOR YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!

I've been thinking the same thing actually. I never got why they chose this to be overly promoted though. Is there supposed to be something special about it?

Re: Hunger Games (and the Media)
I honestly don't know, I didn't have much interest in seeing it. For all I know it's a good movie, but it just came across to me as pretty obvious. How the media can repeat a message or hammer something into people's brains repeatedly, and eventually, it just sinks in. Thus ticket sales. Or gays in military. Or terrorists everywhere. Or whatever agenda needs to be pushed.

I never really watch ,or fall for that movie promo bollox anymore, 'cause I'm always disappointed.
However, I saw it yesterday 'cause my Girlfriend wanted to see it, I knew nothing about it. And I really quite enjoyed it. It's quite a clever little flick. Forget the hype, it's defintely worth checking out imo. Especially, if you like that Logan's Run meets a Battle Royale vibe.

Re: Hunger Games (and the Media)
I'm sick of seeing Hunger Games shit all around everywhere; just another fad for a series that really has nothing to it lesson-wise.... idk, it's just the same regurgitated shit that "authors" are sending out to the public and since the public is stupid and easily entertained, it sells.
Remember that it is all about $$$$$$$ and not Art.

Re: Hunger Games (and the Media)
Watched Battle Royal some days ago because of the hype about Hunger Games and everyone said it's the original. But it wasn't that great movie everyone said. I mean, you watch this movie because a class had to kill each other and then theres this MF that kills everyone and destroys the whole movie. Why dammit? And the ending was...urgh
So i will give Hunger Games a chance, it's only the beginning of a trilogy, maybe the story is deeper than the first trailer shows.
