Just found out about this ARG the other night when a friend of mine swore he saw him in the woods. That was also the night I went stomping through the woods at two in the morning by myself. I will NOT be doing that again anytime soon.

I like the concept of this, the way anyone can create the Slender Man. There are several YouTube series about him, stories, blogs and of course photos. The creativity and drive to make him seem real is admirable. Anyone else stumbles across this character before?

Here's an excerpt from a wiki if you're totally new to this:

Quote:
'The Slender Man was the nickname given to a mysterious character seen in the background of several pictures in a SomethingAwful thread. The posts themselves were centered around children, and a certain man with a slender figure in the background of several pictures, sometimes appearing to have long, spindly, tentacle-like extraneous appendages.

The Slender Man was discovered at the Something Awful Forums in a thread centered around photos from a singular fire which killed many children in the 1980s. He is described as wearing a black suit and black hat and as the name suggests, appears very thin and able to stretch his limbs and torso to inhuman lengths in order to induce fear and ensnare his prey. Once his arms are outstretched, his victims are put into something of a hypnotized state, where they are utterly helpless to stop themselves from walking into them...

A while ago I watched a video series on instances where the slenderman had apparently appeared and it was actually really creepy; I love stuff like this but I'm scared while I'm watching it aha

I like the farm picture it makes me shiver... I always find black and white shots of farms to be chilling.

I like how it's a real-life RPG pretty much. You can create a storyline and plot that follows adventures and Slenderman is a recurring theme. There's a tumblr account called "Fuckyeahslenderman" I believe and they post tons of artwork, journal entries from various people, information on other entities 'aiding' Slenderman... it's really neat.

Of course, it's also spawned the slight hysteria where people actually think he exists and they've seen him. A modern-day urban legend.
