i wanted to try LoL since i've played a fair amount of DotA through Warcraft III but i guess my computer is too dated now and it won't let me run it after i have it DL'd and all installed

LOL is pretty fun. From what I hear from HON and ex-dota players the game is much more "casual." I then go watch videos about HON and it sounds like they are totally unforgiving of newbs.

I really wish I knew you were using an old comp earlier. I donated about 5 computer towers last week, several of which had GPU's that would probably have worked in your machine. I will look around and see if I have anything else kicking that might work for you. What kind of expansion slots does your mobo have?

i have PCI card slots if that's what you're referring to? i have 2 unused slots at the moment.

LoL is the best of the MOBA games out at the moment for the eSport community. It's easy to get into but hard to really master. Maybe DotA will change that in time, maybe not. But as it stands it's got a real following, as the massive audience from Dreamhack and the like shows.

It's nowhere near as 'casual' as the HoN crowd like to spurt. It's easier to get into, yes, but on a lot of levels it seems to be much deeper, too. A lot like Starcraft in the respect that it's easy to get to grips with, but hard to truly master.

On another note, Mordekaiser ftw, solely for his burst DPS potential with a nice damage soak, and Malphite for much the same reason.

I also like Fiddlesticks, as 1) He's a reference to the good Doctor Jonathan Crane, and 2) He will gladly fuck up the day of any spell-heavy hero.

I was hoping you might have an AGP slot, as that supports *slightly better gpu's but I think the PCI cards I have are total crap. LOL doesn't really need that much of a computer/graphics card to play. It might just be a matter of just having one.

@Wyldcat - Morde is definitely one of the most fun champs I have played. Fiddle is great fun too, I just haven't played him as much. My GF mained fid for a while but got really aggravated when his fear glitched out for about a week. She doesn't play as often as she used to as she is too busy with personal projects.

I play occasionally... don't really have many matches under my belt yet but I'm finding that it is quite the addicting game heheheh

yeah there actually isn't anything graphics related in my PCI card slots. when i say "stock dell graphics card" i don't actually mean there's any card, i'm just referring to what i'm running off of that the factory hardwired in. so yeah maybe any PCI graphics card would make it happy?

umm, PCI graphics cards aren't going to make much of any modern games "happy" but lol would at least run. Unfortunately I don't have any PCI graphics cards I could give you to try as they were all in the towers that I donated last week.
You could purchase a computer from an OEM company for about $300 these days that would blow your current computer out of the water.

I've played LoL since closed beta. I have alot of favorite champs AP Teemo, Malzahar, Karthus, Urgot, I always play champs the community doesn't play all that much.

My new build is sickening. 3.5k HP, ~50% crit chance, 45% cooldown reduction, all with some nice utility actives. Means I can practically spam R in the late game. Working with 4 clanmates over Mumble means we're blitzing through levelling to 30 on new accounts, usually with this setup:

The aforesaid Nukeplank
Ganky Shen
Goddamn bastarding Fiddlesticks giving support
Stereotypical Ashe tearing up the mid
And alongside Fiddz, I give to you...The one! The only! The master of metaaaal...MORDEKAISER.

Downside is that when we hit ranked with this setup we're in for a major shock because everyone bans Morde. Saying that, our Morde player is also a FUCKING BRILLIANT Xin, Yi or Trynd.

These are our preferred mains, but we all have a few comps we can throw together for just about any draft or ban situation.

so tried installing LoL one more time because my buddy was telling me he's been playing lately and the official fail message i get is:

Unsupported Hardware

Video Card Does Not Support Pixel Shader 2.0

so i had to uninstall LoL which turned out to be a hassle because my old ass computer started lagging and i accidentally clicked one to many times and the next thing on the add/remove program list just so happens to be my Linksys wireless router so that go uninstalled as well at least it only took me 2 hours to get my internet running again without a disc!

so yea i'm over trying to play LoL, back to DotA for me

...This is hard to comprehend. Is your card integrated. Into a Pentium 2 motherboard? I mean, Pixel Shader 3 is basically older than earth at this point so I can only assume you're running something prehistoric.

But yeah. LoL is brilliant. I'd actually say it's better than DotA in most every way. I also prefer it in both looks (and from what I can tell from videos, gameplay) to DotA 2. That said, it's what happens when the original creators of Allstars get complete control.
