They sound decent, of course they are colored for the price range and go for 500 new. These were just to get me off my feet for my project.
Well one speaker blew and it never even got played loud or anything. As a matter of fact I only had them for a week.
200 bucks flushed down the toilet.
Everyone told me they were good "budget" montiors, sounded good in the store.
Apparently, M-Audio's tech support sucks and all of the Bx8a line have reliability issues.
Fuck M-Audio, first my cables now my speakers. I won't put down money on anything from here on out unless I know I'm getting a quality product.
Guess this is what I deserve...
So yah, If anybody is considering getting any M-audio monitors because of the sonic state review don't waste your money. I'm getting ready to take them apart now and see if the cones are ok, whatever... I think the key part here is....... off of ebayIf someone's selling something cheap, there's a reason for it. My original monitors were relative cheap mackies that haven't blown out on me. Although the one M Audio sound card I had died on me.

Does anyone know anything about speakers?
I opened it up and everything looks clean, smells fine. Speakers are screwed in tight... Actually, I do. I use Adam A7 monitors and have for a while, and they are commonly known as a good mid range monitor. If I didn't have these, i'd likely buy the KRK Rockit series. I haven't steered you wrong yet.

M-Audio is the worst of the worst.
I'd recommend Behringer over anything by them. Seriously.

Maybe you can take them to a good stereo shop and have them looked at? There's got to be a way to salvage your $200. I am wondering, have you had any other similar problems with your setup? Could be a power issue. You really aught to have a decent power conditioner to make sure all your gear is protected from spikes and getting the proper voltage. The more money you spend, the more important this becomes. Plus, if you live in an old cheap ass building (like me) your power is likely dirty as a $2 hooker.

HellMurder wrote: For anyone that cares it is not the speakers. Speakers are not blown, I switched them into the other box with the other board (amp, capacitors), and power supply. Speakers worked fine when I switched them.
The problems lies internally and is most likely a damaged capacitor, transformer, diode, who knows?
It doesn't surprise me either for getting faulty electronics ,just my luck.
However, the M-audio forum is riddled with other uses with the same problem. I may try looking into it, ordering some parts, but whats the point if they are all faulty?
I will never by an M-audio product again. I highly encourage you guys to do the same. M-audio still hasn't replied to my tech support inquiry and it is impossible to get a hold of a "human" on the phone. Getting ready to spam their forum.
Don't buy M-audio. Now this is something I can agree with. If you want a low cost interface, go echo or presonus or get a duet. Low cost monitors? KRK or Mackie. Mixer? Mackie.

 Re: learned my lesson...
I've had Mackie MR8s for awhile, has a little to much low end to me, not enough mid or high end.
And yeah, m-audio is no good.

 Re: learned my lesson...
A good tech should be able to fix that for you in a jiff.
Might be worth a call to see if a few extra bucks could keep you from wasting 200 of them, and you'd still be ahead since these pieces of shit cost $400 to $500 new. Jesus Mary and Joseph, you could get some used Event TR8s for less than that probably, amongst other better options. At least Behringer doesn't have the audacity to overcharge you for cheap Chinee shit.

 Re: learned my lesson...
Try a local tech, don't sweat the schematics. Sorry you got burned. It's happened to all of us at some point, at least once, often more. If you suspect you've been taken, eBay is very buyer-biased when it comes to returning defective merchandise. It could very well be a lemon, and M-Audio happens to be a fucking lemon orchard.
