Thankfully, after playing that horrible time sucking game since retail release I finally realized that nothing good would ever come from the insane hours I put into it.

But, a quick few hundred bucks for my account was nice.

Toons on PvE servers do not sell nearly as well as toons on PvP ones.

The priest was worth a heck of a lot more, but honestly I just wanted some money and to be done with that fucking game.

1800 bonus healing raid buffed ftw.

Damnit. I will never escape wowtalk.

Well... through WoW I've met many now RL friends... my guild leader (MI) had a birthday party and invited anyone that could make it, and 16 guildies made it. People from from MA to CA, staying there from 3 days to a week and a half, hell just recently myself and another RL friend that plays stayed in MI with em for a whole month. XD also got these done by a guildie while there...

ohh, 1800 healing... on a priest.

newb, respec shadow. Healing is for paladins. :P

Who raids anymore anyway? I haven't touched pve since Nax came out at 60(8+ months ago?). I like the way the game has changed, a lot more 'casual friendly'. Don't need to play 70 hours a week to get the best gear for pvp.

Oh, yeah ... I've had people 'quit' numerous times(including myself). At some point you'll have too much free time again, and find out real life is pretty boring.

And yeah, the warlock was on a pvp server.

Paladins are great single target healers, but they lack a few things that a priest brings to the table. PoM for one, divine spirit for another. The entire "priests aren't needed in raids anymore" stuff was a myth created by disgruntled priests who were butthurt about paladins taking their spotlight.

Shadow is fun, but I liked healing. There was something inherently fun about deciding whether I wanted the raid to live or not.

I never had a problem topping the healing meters, and being on the bottom of overhealing. Paladins were actually usually at the top of overhealing. Healspamftl. Probably would have been much higher, but PoM registers funny on meters. It generally attributes the healing done to whoever the PoM has bounced from rather than the priest who casted it to begin with.

As far as who raids, lots of people. It's still an item based e-peen game and always will be.

Damn, just looked at wow tats.

I do know that paladins are more mana efficient, I guess mana efficiency isn't really a problem past a certain point in gear.

Not sure how that makes up for the fact that paladins are much more mana efficient than priests ... eh

I think you mean "holy priests aren't needed in raids anymore". From what I can remember, it was the overpowered combo of highly mana-efficient holy paladins + shadow priests that restore mana with vampiric touch. Mana battery for the group that does high damage as well. I'm not sure how holy paladins can be at the top of overhealing ...maybe too many crit heals? I just assume flash of light spam is what they do, mana efficient small heals so they don't overheal.

Put a good player behind any class and they'll make it work, really.

Arena is so fun. Playing on a 4x dps team with shadow priest, UA warlock, ice mage, elemental shaman, holy paladin. I love throwing dots on everything, picking a target and blowing it up with the insane damage of dots + direct dmg at the same time. Unfortunately, that team no longer exists. Shadow priest sold his account, shaman quit the game etc ... oh well, 2v2 with a rogue is fun.

Mana efficiency is only a problem for a priest if they suck or don't have the brains to work on their MP5.

I liked paladins. I was never jealous of them or felt threatened by them. In fact, the most successful arena team I was on was a 3v3 with myself, a holy paladin and an elemental shaman. The paladin handled the single target heals, my PoM bounced between all three of us constantly, I had a fearbomb and the shaman did the killing. Now, generally an arena team is going to choose a paladin over a priest if they are only going to use one healer spot. That's not the fault of the priest, nor the fault of the paladin. It's the fault of the devs being too stupid to make holy and holy/disc priests more viable in arena combat.

I've done arena as both shadow and as holy, and it really doesn't matter because I am going to be targeted first regardless of whether I'm a healer or a dpser.

Trust me though, PoM is a seriously awesome spell both in PvE and PvP. It's also extremely rare, at least in my experience, for a raid to not bring at least one holy/disc priest along for the divine spirit buff.

Each healing class heals differently. You can't say "this class heals better than this other class" because each one does so in a different way. It's a matter of how the player plays, the player's gear and the player's spec.

TBC shook things up as far as the healing roles go in the game, but it didn't make priests automatically become mana batteries for paladins, despite what the QQing on the forums said. I never once lost a raid spot to a paladin, and if a priest did they most likely sucked or their guild had too many healers and needed to create an additional raid group.

Also keep in mind the serious problems concerning threat generation/reduction when it comes to a shadow build. You have to walk an extremely fine line between maxing your dps and watching your threat. One SWD crit and you're quite possibly a smear on the floor, and fade is a piece of shit.

Edit: I just remembered, it's almost caturday.
