 Old School Industrial Drum sounds?
Been wondering how to get that old school sound, sounds like a compressed heavy long reverb gated sound, I heard about the Kawai R-100 has a kick and snare sound thats in that ballpark?

bit crusher down to 8 bit, lex verb plus plate verb, api2500 compress or something similar 4 to 1 or higher, put a good threshold, and lots of make up gain. bam. use any sours, down pitch a tad. walla.

You just mess with the decay amounts till it sounds right, you can gate, but you don't have to.

Re: Old School Industrial Drum sounds?
Nice advice there! Any good ideas where to get some decent drum samples to begin with...? I'm sick of the Vengeance packs. Cheers!

Re: Old School Industrial Drum sounds?
Get yourself a portable recorder and smash everything metal you see with a hammer.
Boost the bass frequencies and add some compression. Done.
Where's the don't-give-a-fuck attitude these days...
