So, I'm planning on getting my album pressed but don't want my ass to encounter legal issues regarding the samples that are in some songs; these being of The Manson Family, Fantasy Island, Hellraiser II, and The Life and Times of Mark Twain - but does anyone know how I go about paying the creators and/or whoever so that I am authorised to do so?

Bryan, you have used samples extensively in both VAC and Toxic Coma, and I was just wondering how you do that legally, or if it even is an issue.

I've read a thread on the Avid forums but it has left me with more questions than answers so I figured here was the best place to ask since it's Bryan's forum.

i wouldnt worry about it.

unless youre on a major label, dont worry about it.

ive released 3 albums now with lots of movie samples, but im not on a major label, so i could care fucking less.

also, if you were to, say, give your album away for free, theres really nothing they can do either....if they did find out, because youre not making any money off it.

so, again, dont give a shit. just do it.
