Post lexicon pcm 41
I'm on the market for a delay unit like the lexicon pcm 41, anyone have any experience with this? I hear it's good, but maybe someone can suggest an alternative 1U delay box?

Just want my delays outside of my DAW, and outside of my reverb unit. Only interested in
dedicated delay units though not reverb/multi effects. Any feedback appreciated.

The lex verbs in the box are better in my opinion. I love the high end lex plugs.

I'm OK for verbs, just need a hardware delay for doing shit outside of the comp. I think the PCM 41 seems pretty good.

For itb delays, the korg triton fx that come with the legacy pack are amazing, the mxe or mdx or whatever they are called, these are my go to delays.

^cool, I'll check those ones out too, cause I do also some better itb stuff.

Still need something hardware though, just cause when I'm jamming synths live I kinda need something that has dedicated knobs straight into the delay times/feedback - 'cause i hate going into the parameters of my mpx1 when I need instant real time control.

The PCM41 seems great, but nothing on the bay right now, not for the price I wanna pay anyway.

I dont like digital into digital when it comes to fx, i feel like digital hardware needs to go through something analog first.

Agreed. I find that just running the JP8080 through some 2:1 analog compression, and through the analog EQ on the mixer (cut the high's a bit, boost mids slightly), makes a big difference. You can get VA to sit in the mix much better this way.

Same for the Snow. After having spent longer with it, I do prefer running it via the anlog outs, and compress either 2:1 / 4:1. Running it as a plug-in via USB IS convenient, but it doesn't sound as good to me.

I'm on the fence still with the Snow, great at some things. Aliasing is so bad on the hi stuff, the sound literally turns to noise.
