It's never easy, but some times it's necessary
And it has been literally three months of deliberation and contemplation, but I've made my decision. I think I am ready to part with my Juno-106. Man, I love that thing. It was the synth that I first learned how to program sounds on, and from that point, I was able to tackle any synth. I love the phat basses that it can make and the piercing acidic tones with it's legendary resonance. It has been a part of every musical project I've had since I started using synths, spanning different genres.
The reason why I am going to be letting it go is because it has run it's course for me. With my current musical endeavors, I'm now looking for synths with a bit more versatility, and as much as I just want to load up my studio with as many synths as possible, it's not practical for me at this time, thus I must let it go. It's not an easy decision to make, but I'm very sure that the Juno and I may meet again in the future.
I'm sure you guys can relate. Ever had a synth that you had to let go of, even though it wasn't easy to part with?

Yeah, I can imagine. I wish I had my Virus C back, but it's harder to let go of the analogue vintage gear.

That is understandable but sometimes a single synth for 1 or 2 of your staple sounds is worth it.

As strange as it sounds seeing as I only ever use it as a controller, my D-50.
I sold it to a friend, and 6 months later had to buy it back as I missed it so much. I think it's just 'cause it's what I learned on. But still, I prefer the feel to any other synth I've played, as stupid as it probably sounds. It's also built like a tank, which was great for playing live for the few shows I did with a cheesy power metal cover band a couple of years back.

I'd like to buy your Juno 106, actually. My previous one had a few issues.

Man I've felt unhappy somewhat about everything I've let go, synthwise. Sometimes I feel like that about people I let go. Sigh...
I think it is good to rotate the gear now and then though. One can get in a rut just using the same stuff too long. Gee... same thing with people too. What the hell?

I actually ended up changing my mind and decided to keep it, cause I know that once I let it go, I'm going to regret it so much.
