attempted to make a sort of cheap, vegan white russian last night with some friends. I bought Rice Dream hazelnut and almond flavour rice milk last week and thought it tasted like cream liquer, so got the idea to just add coffee and Smirnoff vodka lol

it really just tasted like a cold, milky, vodka-y irish coffee lol.

it was nice though!!


anyone ever tried making their own version? what's the best type of milk-alternative to use?

i want to have a big lebowski theme party soon and would like the white russians to be completely vegan.

You can actually purchase vegan creamers that have a much higher fat content than the milky variations of them. I have most commonly seen them in soy, but there may be non-soy alternatives.

As far as the kahlua goes, the original blend of kahlua is vegan. There are a number of other coffee liquors on the market that you may be able to find as well.

and that is pretty much it

vodka, kahlua, cream
