 Re: Wii u Game Changer
I'm real glad they're giving it a "proper" D-Pad. I'm a big fan of retro gaming and I hate using an analogue stick if I'm playing an old game. It just never feels right.

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
Wii-U batt life for iPad/brick controller is up most to 3-5 hrs of gameplay! Using two of those tablets on the system slows framerate to 30fps... which isnt too bad since tv broadcast IS 29.97fps.
Those are the only two beefs w/ the system but N-dawg mentioned they may fix that in the future.... . . .

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
I agree with him 100%. I was interested in getting a Wii U until I saw their conference this year. What an embarrassment.

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
Did anyone seriously expect much different? It's been speculated for a long time and known for a while that the specs on the WiiU will be hardly any better than current gen systems.
Nintendo will survive off it's diehard fans but for it to be a "contender" again, to be the king again, very doubtful.
Rumor is that Valve is thinking of getting into consoles. A terminal device that'll run a Linux-based steam on licensed hardware made by diff companies. May be interesting.
WiiU will be another interesting gimmicky toy and worth getting 6 months - 1 year after it's release on the cheap. For any real "hardcore" games, it shouldn't be any surprise to anyone that you'll have to stick with the big boys or with PC. Let's just hope Sony gets their act together and has a better interface for online community play.

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
N64 was the peak. Gamecube was a gameless sub-par.

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
^ whaaa, maybe when n64 launched but after at most a couple yrs, it fell far back of Playstation. So many developers ended up abandoning n64 for the easier to program AND popular PS1.
To me, SNES was the shizzle for N-dominance. Wii is a sell-out party game.

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
well, if u wanna compare by other makers then yeah, ps smoked nintendo's pipe without asking. but as someone who has only played only nintendo, sega and PC you can easily see a difference.
N64 had a ton of great games. Expansive, creative and just badass. Gamecube and Wii games are so friggin short. All they have are their classics which are great. I would srsly buy nintendo with 80% of the reason being Zelda and Mario.

A'ight, I'll give you that. Zelda on N64 was dope. So many fond memories playing it. Prefer it still over the newer installments.

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
I liked the Gamecube, espicially compared to the Wii. N64 was outstanding though, beats most games these days by a long shot. I still play my NES, SNES, and N64 to this day.

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
One of my best memories is playing Zelda in a closet during a tornado on my Gameboy. I have a tape of me playing through Majora's Mask with all collections without a break.
I recently sold my 64 and NES. Fully working. I couldnt find any new games and I dont like keeping too much. Will be getting a Wii and XBox.

 Re: Wii u Game Changer
Spokesman for companies like that are always loudmouth idiots and that Randy whatever the fuck douchebag name is a moron.
WiiU will not only have the same thing happen down the road, losing 3rd party support due to it's lack of power, but it WILL NOT have the same surge of popularity the Wii had.
The Wii was a strike of lightning and you know what they say about lightning striking twice. They're just gambling on yet another gimmick and this time it will sink them.
Fucking depressing. I grew up on Nintendo and it sucks to see them being ran into the ground.
