Just got back from seeing it right now. 10/10 for me. Brilliant.

Re: girl with the dragon tat
I'm def. not one for re-makes, but I had to see this as it's David Fincher. Re-makes are just about forgivable if a director in that league has a go, and I enjoyed it.
Still wish America would churn out more original scripts though. This re-making of European films is just lame.

Re: girl with the dragon tat
I tried watching the original and it was so slow i could not get into it.
Pacing is a huge thing in story telling on the big screen, those other movies failed at doing that, they are more like a long soap opera style of story telling.
This one is a movie that edits everything and flows so much better and I loved the sound track. Better actors as well.

Re: girl with the dragon tat
The Swedish movies bored me. I think mostly because of the actors are so stiff and lame and less animated. The acting in law and order is better honestly.
I felt the characters were more animated and intelligent in the fincher version. Like i said i think i miss a lot of the inflections because I do not speak Swedish. The fincher film had that big screen fincher polish and wonderful camera work and lighting that makes all of his films so much more HQ and enjoyable to look at.
So i think this great story needed to be remade for these reasons.
Some stuff was left out, but like i said it flowed better in my opinion.
