Seeing as Asphixia is my favourite song created by you I was wondering where the samples are from, because I dont recall reading anything about that ever and they dont sound familiar either.

Did you use any Best Service Extreme Sample CD's, just found the drums for Lysergia on the Extreme 2 CD?

Some other cool drum loops on it as well, very 90's. I also found the opening drums to FLA's Life=Leben. Why do 90's Drum Sampled CD's sound better than todays?

You've mentioned Bathory's "Under the Sign..." as an influence on your vocals for the upcoming VAC release and previously the influence of Napalm Death and Godflesh on other releases. Do you consider any other Heavy Metal bands as influences on any portion of other VAC works?

Re: Ask me about making songs, lps, whatever
just a silly thought, would you ever allow one of your tunes to be used in a commercial? for instance.... a scooter commercial, may not get you top dollars but something at least?
reason i ask is some artists hate having their material plastered for an ad like window cleaners or shoes.

Re: Ask me about making songs, lps, whatever
moby, a while ago, recieved a large numbe rfor advertising some vehicle.
some music reporter, knowing what moby is about, asked him why he accepted, being against single vehicle/petrol based transport.
his responce was along the lines of
they had x amount of money dedicated to acquiring marketing materials, including music. if i hadn't of taken it, it is likely that someone who wasn't against this companies way of functioning would've gotten the funding. by me accepting it, i can divert these funds to support opposition. they're paying someone that is against their interest.

Re: Ask me about making songs, lps, whatever
ok,i'm sure i'll have a bunch of questions.i'll start here.
as i'm new to this style of music,i feel i'm at zero point in even starting a song.
i've come up with a cpl ideas,of course they dont fit with each other tho.
i love the layering that goes on in VAC.so i was thinking of coming up with a groove, then just jamming different instruments over them and see what i come up with, then run the drum parts the length of a song and add the different parts and instruments as i go.that sounds kinda silly reading back.
but imo, bands like Suicide Commando and Handzel und Gretyl seem to keep the same groove over most of if not all of a song.(maybe i'm missing something)
i come from a ...this is an intro, this is verse, this is chorus arranging style.then arrange that parts as an ABCABCDEBC type progression.i guess i dont really write clubby dancey tunes.but i do want that element in there sometimes.yet i dont wanna come across as an NIN or Ministry ripoff anymore than i want to be a VAC or Alien Vampires or skinny puppy rip off.
HexFix93,do you have the melodies in your head already, then you just search for the sounds that match?or are u so far ahead in the game that you know what you want and exactly how to get it?

Re: Ask me about making songs, lps, whatever
I write things in parts. I don't put the same beat through the whole song usually, sometimes i do tho its rare. i just work on things part by part, like i write the entire part usually before i write the next part so on and so on. I try to get 3 solid parts, then i do things to bridge them together and write stuff just for transitions. Then sometimes i go back through the whole song to add leads, or sounds fx, fills and drop outs and build ups that goes on during the final arrangement stages.
Layering was way easier when i worked on a real mixer, with a midi sequencer running my entire mix via midi real time. Analog mixers usually can mix a busy layered mix a lot better. ITB man, if you try and do to much layering you get mud city. So it really kind of sucks. Now if you want super loud mixes you have to keep the mix simpler and simpler. New vac is not as complex as old vac for this reason, i am working in the box with a lot of software and the head room is much less it seems. Still I cannot afford to work that old way anymore.
I play a lot of music, when i start getting into writing i will learn how to play other songs from other bands. That will get me in the mood to not just do the same thing over and over and it teaches me to start from different points as well. I have no set way really, i just sit down and start fucking with something till i get it to sound good, then i build a house on top of it. Like I can start with a beat, a riff, a bass line, or a lead, or even pads and string arrangements, there is no set point for me, i just write using anything i reach for.
Dance music usually is simple, because it has to be loud, and people are stupid when they are drunk and do not want complicated shit. cause it makes them fuck up when they dance. so think of it that way.
I unlike most of these morons in the scene appreciate all kinds of music. I am able to play many instruments as well, bass, guitar, violin, keys, and drums. I learn how to play all kinds of music and that helps do things that set me apart from the typical bullshit you hear in the scene. I also like to use sounds in my VAC style. This is why VAC's catalog is all over the place covering so many genre styles and songs that sound nothing alike.
