The Twilight Garden: Hope, Todd Loomis aka Elegia.
*UPDATED*

Todd and I did lust for blood together, and only did a little bit together on the art of breaking apart. We made two lps that we thought would be good to play live and mix in with the back VAC catalog. Tis why you hear all the guitar work and things, I was a guitarist first then keyboardist I also can play guitar very well but I cannot sing and play to save my fucking life. Todd was the guy who could play guitar and keys live in VAC to make our live set really kick ass and not be and industrial karaoke show like most of the bands who bring their laptops and just play backing tracks. Todd is actually a trained pianist, he can play Chopin and Beethoven and shit, its amazing.
^ Todd can play stuff like this. No joke. he is amazing. He also plays guitar really well. This was a big reason VAC experimented on the last few CDS. We wanted to tour the world. Well, we had a stupid falling out a couple of years back that put everything on hold. Time heals wounds and people change and realize whats best for them in the end. Having Todd back is a great thing. The live shows are in full swing and I have always been a fan of Todd’s skillz as a musician from the first time I met him at a guitar center when a friend of mine introduced me to him because I was working on the Cure cover for the figurehead at the time. It works out better like this. Now I am playing keys for his band live who is opening for my band live in feb of 2013 on a west coast tour. Any how, Todd is releasing an LP on Metropolis Records called “HOPE”. Imagine if the cure’s ambiance from faith and seventeen seconds meet the classical complexity of say some legendary pink dots songs from their middle era, any day now, crushed velvet and maria dimension. Mix it with some 80s pop like the cars and the rage from early NIN and you can start to understand the Twilight Garden.
Also, the song that made me a true believer in Todd was “MACHINE” A song he wrote long ago like in 2004 for a friend’s music compilation. Some guy who worked at sweet water sound was putting together a music comp. Todd also did another track for it but it was more of a guitar track, they asked him to make something more electronic, he came up with “MACHINE”. One of my favorite songs in the world. Haunting melody, hypnotic groove laced with classical strings. AMAZING. It blew me away when i heard it, I wanted it to get praise and love so we put it out on “LUST FOR BLOOD”. The entire song was done by Todd, I had nothing to do with it what so ever. This was the song that put him in VAC.

Comment here to let me know what you think. I Really Like Todd’s new lp, so much so that I wanted to play it live in his band. Hope comes out Nov 27 on Metropolis, be sure to pre order if you like what you hear and help my friend out.

It’s weird to read this big thing about me here… but thanks for helping to promote The Twilight Garden. Still… this is Velvet Acid Christ headquarters – so people are probably mostly focused on VAC here. Hopefully there will be some people that like The Twilight Garden as well. I imagine there will at least be “some”… it seems like most people are pretty multidimensional.
Anyway, thanks for your help Bryan in telling people about my music as well… And also, thanks to any VAC fans that give a chance to The Twilight Garden…

That’s soooo awesome! Gets me super-stoked for you guys man! It’s pretty cool you’re in each other’s live-bands too! that’s always interesting and now you’ve both got some really cool music to learn and throw your own twist on! I so wish I was 21 already so that I could see you play live; I’ve wished for it ever since I bought BTE Volume 3 because of the artwork – it opened a whole new world for me! Good luck on the tour anyways!
Also, ‘A World We Pretend’ kicks major ass! So great! I’ll be buying ‘Hope’ when it’s released… also, Todd’s kinda cute if you don’t mind me saying hehe

Ok so here it goes.
Machine, along with Ghost Regen were my two favorite tracks from Lust for Blood. Both of you are ridiculously talented. Machine is that one track that will remind me of how horrible it is to lose yourself while running away from a memory. Walking outside in the cold, a dark little midwest town. Only thing that has ever come close to Machine back then, is Adversary’s International Dark Skies (purposely composed for that specific situation, the wintery walk in the cold as an attempt to clear one’s head).
So all that aside, after hearing Todd was responsible for Machine, I could not not throw my cash at Twilight Garden and click on the “repeat playlist” toggle. I bought the digital download, continued to stream off Spotify because I understand that revenue matters.
Violet is an amazing song, Todd. Amazing. I’ve played the track at least 15 times in the last 24 hours. I’ve attached a wonderful memory from a wonderful night to it. Bryan’s songs have already reached the point (The Art of Breaking apart kept me sane last winter. I don’t care what anyone says, that record has been your best work thus far. Unexpected? Yes. Brilliant? Also that.), but it generally takes a while for me to warm up to a track from someone I’m not so familiar with.
Violet and Falling Rain are just great pieces.
Great job, sirs.
Get your collective asses over to NYC so I can actually say “Hi” to you both.

The twilight garden is such a wonderful addition to the world of music. Falling Rain has to be my ultimate favorite track on their new lp. The influence my artwork with their lyrical melancholy atmosphere they bring. I look forward to seeing more work from them! XD
