Live show plans are in the works. It is do or die this time. So far I have Steve aka FRO on board. I need one more person, Thorsten does not seem interested :( I am looking for someone who can play guitar and synths and is really into VAC, and the dark side of music. I wont say tour. But I will say shows. I had a long chat with Tom Shear of A23 on facebook a while back and he told me how to do it and make money. I cannot thank him enough for the information because he tours and manages to make money. I don’t think I want to tour with any other bands. I just want to play with other local bands of each town. I think my set list will be about 1 hour and a half and If i cannot get a guitarist to go on tour with me, no guitar songs will be played live :( I suck at singing and playing guitar. I am a studio baby LOL.

Click here to hear the newest sound clips from the new Velvet Acid Christ LP “MALDIRE”. I have gotten great feedback from the labels, Stefan Herwig even likes it, Dave Heckman liked it, and they had been critical of my last few cds. So they think I have tapped back into what the fans want, what the clubs want instead of all the experimentation and pop songs I did on lust for blood and the art of breaking apart. Maldire is dark, dance friendly and evil and seething. It captures the spirit of calling of the dead, and the dance appeal of fun with knives, but is even more brutal and musical than those records. I think Maldire will bring people back to the scene of yesteryear, when Wumpscut had embryo dead out, Covenant had sequencer, and Haujobs did solutions for a small planet. Maldire doesn’t try to be new and fresh, it tries to refine the sound that had the club floors packed, and the scene way bigger than it is today. So if you like the old school sound of industrial, MALDIRE will completely satisfy you. No detuned crappy trance lead techno pop ebm here. This is dark brutal pissed off metal clanging ebm and industrial that no one is doing anymore.

We will be playing in early 2013 in Denver at a festival, I will update you when more details are available. I am working on costumes, masks, and lighting and presentation for the VAC shows of 2012 and 2013. This is not a false alarm. I have the backing of metropolis. I want to make these shows a visual experience as well, I hope I can pull it off with a limited budget, and I plan on filming the audience at every show, to reverse the invasion. :) LOL I am invading you.

I am also working on vocals for the next VAC LP, working title “MAUVAIS”, I doubt the lp will keep that title, it is just a working title. I think it means “BAD” in french. LOL didn’t Michael Jackson have an LP called “BAD”. lol. I just love those old french words. So pretty. This lp will come out i think in spring of next year.

Post your comments below, and please POST what songs you want to hear live!! PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT FOR THIS!! PLEASE I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR!!!

Don’t forget Calling ov the Dead too! “Malfunction” live would be sick! So would “The Hand.” And the obvious “Pretty Toy” from Hex Angel.

And if somehow you can get a female vocalist, please please PLEASE play “Dilaudid” and “Slut.” :)

  8. Stevil Says:

pretty toy, haunted, convex, evoked, ominous rattle, maldire, mysteric, disconnected nightmare, blood, slut, fun with drugs, fun with knives, icon, there is no god, velvet pill, lysergia, phucked up phreak, black rainbows, faithless, exquisite stench. as far as stuff from the between the eyes era, i don’t think it’s super relevant, but obviously you’d make some die hards very happy. killing me and suicide picnic would be cool to hear, but as long as i hear pretty toy i’ll be satisfied. granted this depends on how close to new york you end up playing. and i don’t mean nyc, because that’s 6 hours away from me. i would be ecstatic if you came to either buffalo or rochester!

  9. Raccoon Says:

Any song from VAC.. is good enough for me Omg Plz come to l.a Ca.. ur the last band and “god” i want to see and i can die happy!!!!! i fucking love uuuu!!!!!

  10. Michael Arthur Holloway Says:

Brian — re: playing with local bands. This is Michael of DEAD WHEN I FOUND HER. It’d be great to do a show with you here in Portland, Oregon. We play here frequently and I know the perfect place for us. Get in touch if you’re interested and we can discuss further. michael@dwifh.com

  11. Lou Says:

    Doin NYC?

  12. Image Says:

    Dial 8
    Malfunction
    Bend The Sky
    Let’s Kill All These Motherfuckers
Black Rainbows (If you can get the guitar)
    Phucked Up Phreak
    Sex Disease
    Lust
    BSAT2
    Crushed
    Thought Criminal
    Planck’s Constant XD

And a lot from Maldire. Also I agree with Michael, Dead When I Found Her would work perfectly with VAC at a live show.

  13. Alpacalypse Says:

How close can you get to Charlotte? I know my hopes are probably a bit high, but I can dream?

  14. Bajskorv (Christian) Says:

    Hey Bro,

I quit my job and I’m living semi retired in Utah working on some books. Don’t have to be at work until Dec 4th. If you’d like some help with synths and guitar live, well I am pretty sure you know I can play both of those, and my hawk is looking pretty good on a stage these days.

Hit me up if you’re interested.

  51. Dan Says:

    Hey Bryan,

I’ve been out of the scene for awhile. It just doesn’t excite me much these days. The weather is getting colder and I got wind that some bands that I like are touring so I decided to hit up your website to see what’s going on in the world of VAC and I was very happy that I checked in. I fired up iTunes to have a listen of the new album and thought it was great stuff. I didn’t even finish sampling all the songs – I had to have it. It’s the best underground CD that I’ve bought in years. Anyway, regarding your post, yeah I think you hit the nail on the head. This is the music that the scene needs to be hearing in the club. It gave me a flashback to my 90s club nights at the Bat Cave in NYC and would fit right in with that era.

I also want to comment briefly on another one of your posts regarding getting the “normals” out to the shows. By all outwards appearances I would be included in this group these days and the last several years. I’ve never had any issues with the crowd; I find the scene to be very friendly. I think the elitists are more of an issue in the clubs.

Anyways, I’m def looking forward to the shows and since I can’t wait ’til the summer I’ll be flying out west to catch ‘em. I can’t wait!

Oh – and throw up a kickstarter page. I would contribute to that to make the show go on!
