VAC: Even Now cover.

March 28th, 2012 by Hexfix93

^This is the original. Mine has a beat, and is very dancey.

I did the vocals. Going to try to sing the female part myself. Doubt i can pull it off, but sometimes I can. not kidding, but i will sound like depeche mode when martin gore sings lol when i go into my head voice and falsetto. I turned this track into a spaced out psychedellic dance outer space sci fi sounding track. I slowed it down to 90 bpm too. Now I am unsure on how to release it. Should i put it on the lp as a hidden track, put it out for free, or put out a single for it. I dont know, but i love my version of the track. I love the lyrics so fucking much, the meaning, it means so much to me. suicide attempts, lost love, hate, regret of people, relationships, rekindling, death.

lyrics:
Mistakes were made and prices paid – The scars across your wrists. The twist inside – I know you’re hiding. Even now. Have you changed? Do you forget? you still regret the day you met me – even now? You feel the bandage itching as you’re sweating in the white light – feel the stethescope press down, even now? (Don’t you think I feel it too, even now?) It had to be, and now I’m missing you and want to start again – we’ll start with flowers and a row, even now! We’ll never settle down… No never… even now…But still the fire’s burning. It’s burning just for you. Is it burning for me too, even now? We’re locked-up for eternity.. locked together, even now…

VAC news on the eve of my b-day! SO AWESOME! (I would be honored by a Toxic Coma song, if you had the time / inspiration).

The main instrument reminds me of a harpsichord on acid. I love how it plays on serenely under the string and voice crescendo and climax. I do look forward to the VAC-ified version!

In regards to releasing it — I was wondering the other day if the CD format was dead (if not, then on life support). Would it not make more sense as an artist (and to your fans) to release songs as you create them? (I would think that putting your name out more frequently would be more beneficial to you). Have you considered releasing your work as a series of singles? If you oppose this idea, why?

I am on metropolis, metropolis hates releasing covers on an LP, singles dont sell and are a waste of moeny to print them, digital only is um,, i dunno.

Singles only, wow. i dunno that’s an interesting idea, but who is doing that? I am not arrogant enough to think every track i make is worthy of a single a side.

  3. Projekt Eins Says:

I dont know of anyone doing it…which is exactly the point. As a revolutionary of industrial music, why not try out this uncharted method? Digital only has got to be fairly cheap to produce (and with lossless algorhythms it should be decent quality).

I dont mean to stir anything negative by drawing this parallel but music is addictive, especially from one’s favorite artist. Many quick, small, frequent “hits” is far more addicting than infrequent, but larger doses. Its why ciggs are so damn addictive! Anyway, I am surprised no-one has applied this model to the music industry. What if you did? What if Bryan Erickson changed the music industry? What would you have to lose?

Looking forward to this one. What about a bonus download w/ a code in the cd? Or the Itunes “album only” model – you get the song but have to purchase the entire album to get it. No track by track buys.

I loved the 2 covers that closed out the recent Deftones album. The fact that they were covers actually brought the album to two different finishes – the full Deftones ending and then a slightly different ending, almost like turning on a cross-band crossfade. Anyways good stuff.

Maybe add a code for a mp3 download of the song packaged with the cd? Like how a lot of new albums do with actual records being released today. Though personally I would prefer an actual vinyl release with a mp3 download code, but i doubt that would sell easily.

I fukking can’t want to hear this, man!

I also can’t wait for this cover although some VAC is just as beautiful, if not more, as this song. And also as tripy.

Hi! Kris Nelson here. Am writing the official biography of the Legendary Pink Dots and am wondering if you’d like to say anything about them. Please do email me if so – great choice for a cover!

    All the best,
