Terrible news. I generally am a misanthrope, but I get so angry when I see the poor being victims over and over again. This moved me. I ask you, please donate to the red cross. Click Here to donate to the red cross. Or volunteer! Do something to help these poor people. I donated. I might even do some volunteer work.

Terrible news indeed. The seeming insignificance of our small actions should not be an excuse for apathy.
My heart goes out to them.

I’ve never donated to anything before, but I felt the need to do something. I sent the red cross a little money, and several of my friends have as well. It’s wicked easy. text Haiti to 90999, and it sends 10 dollars which will appear on your next bill. After donating, I read the comments made by the bigots pat robertson and rush limbaugh, and i feel even better now about my donation.

I can’t believe Pat Robertson’s vile audacity–or that anyone believes his bs.

In short, he claims that the Haitians made a “deal with the devil” to ensure their successful revolution from France and that they are now paying for their deal… right…

Thanks Bryan! I made my donation….

I already donated my money to Red Cross Australia for Haiti. Good to see you put some time to promote this. :)

Yea, I’m hosting and performing a benefit show at a venue in my town, all the proceeds are going to Red Cross. It’s scheduled for March (soonest I could get). So far I only have my band and a noise band called Puberty confirmed. I’m charging $5 a ticket and of course accepting donations.

I am really bothered by a lot of the people who live near me. They have a really religious community. They have all posted facebook and myspace bulletins how we should all pray for the Haitians. But they haven’t done anything beyond that.

…FYI….the Red Cross may do a lot of good….but they also don’t allow gay men to donate blood because of (from their perspective) the risk of AIDS…an old policy they’ve had for decades….which is outright discrimination….there are other organizations down there that you can help who are also assisting those in need (without the discrimination):
    UNICEF
    Oxfam
    World Food Programme

I don’t want to just spout rhetoric about the Red Cross….don’t take my word for it….read up on it for yourself and come to your own conclusion about the Red Cross…
