VAC News: Nov 15th.

NEWS: This is a new press photo promo picture, yay, me likes. So what is new? I am working on the next lp now. Going back to the old set up and the old mode of working. I wrote a really good insight on how VAC production works past and present Click Here to read VAC PRODUCTION PAST VS PRESENT. I am sick of the slow way of working. Going back to the fast way, buying back all the gear I used on calling of the dead, and fun with knives(emu e6400 ultra, jp-8080, virus a, trinity rack, nord lead 2 rack, yamaha an1x, mopho. I am selling a few synths, my, s770 sampler, roland sh-2, future retro revolution and my novation remote 61 mk1 keyboard controller. I am also selling my converters my Fireface 800(if you are interested in any of these, comment) I am re-making some old songs off of oblivion interface(the very first unreleased VAC LP), I have about 4 songs underway that are new. I know that I want to make a more harsh dance record, with varied elements. I am more angry than sad now. I hope I can get another LP finished over the winter. After the next lp, I think a greatest hits is in order. I really want to make a great lp that is more complex. My old gear will work I bet. Wish me luck.

This banner code is for the horizontal and verticle versions, please add these to your blogs, help me spread the word about the new lp and promote it, thanks:

I am now adding new articles weekly on the media blog, Reviews, and shining the spotlight on things I like. VAC writes all of these reviews and articles..

Thats cool. However I think this last album was awesome. I love all the slow songs. I hope you keep making songs like that.

Very nice picture your doing great man, all this talk about the new is very exciting. By the way
I really wanted to know if you can tell me about Sadder still. I’ve always wondered about it.. What it is about, what it means, what you were going through at the time etc.. I cannot find it on your site.

There is a song on the maria Dimension(lpd) called home. That song makes me so sad, its sad and trippy. So i was very inspired by that song when i wrote this song.. I wrote this in about 2 hrs… vocals done on one take. This song makes me cry sometimes. It’s so full of hope and despair at the same time. Uplifting, but sick at the same time. Another one of my favorite vac tracks. underrated…
It was about breaking up with people and how we all grow old and alone.

That is what Home is about or sadder still? And do you mean Home is full of hope and despair? Or sadder still? And i havent heard that track

Home is phenomenal as is Sadder Still. I can’t listen to Sadder Still too often it gets me choked up every time. Also, the beginning of Crushed… I heard that song on the way to my father’s burial and it was such an odd experience in general.. I couldn’t handle much of it… BUT it goes to show the raw emotion not only by the person who made it (you) but the people who are lucky enough to get to experience it (us).

Another song that I also love to death is Tiger Tiger by Duran Duran.. only instrumental but it always gets me for some reason.. then again I am a sucker for DD.

Good luck on using old gear. Glad to see you aren’t quitting just yet and already writing for the next album. That’s cool it will be more harsh, even though I did like TAOBA very much.

I’m glad you like the promopic, it really rocks. Is that a new pic, cause I remember how you recently (or not so recently) said that you where not very contempt with your image.
Is there a bigger one around? I want to print it out for my room.

Glad to hear that you are working on a new album. I think a “best of” album is a good idea. I would like to see a side-by-side remix, maybe. So you take 6 or so older songs and modernize them – like what you did with Phucking Phreak/Phucked Up Phreak. That was such a good idea, I would like to see it replicated with other songs to make a whole album. What do you, and anyone else, think about that?

Also…
If you can’t get metropolis to send me promo stuff, would you mind if I printed the promopic to put up around campus?

Hey Hex, I saw some of your writings on the forum and don’t really have the time to sign up although I will some day, I just wanted to say some longwinded shit so bare with me…first of all that you’ve broken ground with the new lp by creating something I’ve never heard before. The LPD influence is right up front and I’ve always liked your voice up front but you’ve truly pushed VAC’s boundaries with some of your incredible vocals…and I’ve never heard songs like Vaporized…the apocalyptic folk mixed with VAC trancy appregios….I’ve never heard anything like it and I think it establishes TAoBA as one of my top three VAC albums. This is coming from someone who primarily listens to Neuralblastoma and CoA from your catalog of work..
Seeing you live was my first concert ever when I was fifteen and I’ve basically grown up listening to your music. I’ve been a diehard fan ever since (spoke to you in person several times too when I was a teenager and you were always a humble, nice guy willing to talk to his fans, even annoying teenage kids like myself at the time hehe), primarily of the more older and what I would consider more bizarre stuff but I still love TTG, LFB, and Hex practically just as much. I’ve turned a good portion of my friends onto your music just by them overhearing it being around me…so you DO have lifelong diehard fans in the shadows man. You probably know that already though..
I’m a starving college student these days but upon occassionally checking your site and discovering you had a new lp, I scrounged my change up and went and bought the fucker the other night finally…incredible. I’m also a huge C93,DI6, LPD, Tear Garden fan as well though so maybe I’m biased….but the new album is incredible. As a fan of the old stuff primarily I still love this album, not only does it not sound like anything else you’ve done but like nothing else in all of these electronic “genres”, it is definitely your most emotional and personal work yet you can tell…in my opinion anyway. My only unrealistic wish is that I could hear this lp on VINYL! Acoustic music is perfect for vinyl lps…
I just wanted to say, DO NOT give up man, PLEASE keep releasing physical music. I’d much rather have a physical product with ARTWORK in my hands. Its been discussed to death but it is true. The modern zeitgeist of instant gratification now now now me me me is antithetical to the whole concept of REAL, genuine, art and the whole experience of music (art, packaging, aesthetics), I just wanted to rant, you haven’t “alienated” your fanbase and if anything you’ve got me focused on your work now more then ever…please don’t stop making music, don’t do digital releases exclusively, and don’t ever fucking compromise!!! KEEP FIGHTING AND MAKING MUSIC BRYAN!
