Doom Kitties for VAC.

evil-1
I had an Extreme allergic reaction to a cat scratch last night, every inch of my skin turned fire engine red and I had white sacks under my eyes. I had to go to the hospital and get a epi shot and a bunch of roids. I’m 100% better now, but if i failed to go to the hospital, I would of perished. I almost had seizures. I had chills and was shivering. It was one of the most terrible things I have ever experienced. I had severe allergic reactions to cats as a kid, but this one tops them all. I have never been a CAT person, recently my dog tore a big hole in my ear, and I healed from that nicely, no prb, but a tiny cat scratch will swell my skin and make me stop breathing. Crazy. All I did, was pick up the cat to feed it, and he jumped off scratching me with his hind claws, accident, something so innocent all most killed me. Scared the shit out of me, thank goodness my family was around to take care of me.

Another thing, I bought a 24 inch imac, had it for a week, needed the bigger screen to do wav edits, and guess what, it took a big shit too, this is the second Imac I have tried that has conked out on me, those are pure garbage. My Mac book pro is very reliable so far(knock on wood). The imac worked great, and after I finished the master, I burned a copy to listen to in the car. When I came home, tried booting up, it booted into windows, just fine even tho i had it set to boot to the mac. So I restarted in mac, it took a half hour to boot, and when I got there, I immediately started trying to back up all the songs and edits I had made, it kept locking up and not finishing, so I installed this MACDRIVE 7 APP on the windows side and was able to get all the files off. Fuck. I ran disck diagnostic, checked out okay, ran the mem tests, verbose boot, everything i could try, nothing saved the imac. I really wanted it, I tried to re install leopard, no go, it would sit, and perma lock up when trying that. IMACS SUCK, they over heat in hot studios and take a crap. I have had no luck with 2 so far. I highly recommend against this crappy technology. To much shit packed in a small space that gets to hot. Macbooks are much better. So is the MAC PRO. Stay far away from the IMAC, even Heidi(my possible future live show keyboardist and bass player, said hers acts up too). IMAC = JUST SAY NO. I think I will write up reviews for my MACs soon on this site.

And yes, the lp is done, done, done, all the final tweaks are done. I will send it to be mastered today or tomorrow. Should see a Fall release. Lp art is done and I am really happy with it. I like this record, its new for VAC. I changed the track list to:

The Art of Breaking Apart:

01: Tripped Out : 128 BPM
02: Vaporized: 140 BPM
03: Black Rainbows : 117 BPM
04: Phucked Up Phreak : 120 BPM
05: Killing a Stranger : 120 BPM
06: The Art of Breaking Apart : 127 BPM
07: Caustic Disco : 127 BPM
08: Killed In Space : 140 BPM
09: Amnesia : 110 BPM
10: Faithless : 114 BPM
11: Silver: 134 BPM

It starts out upbeat and danced out, then gets darker and darker as the lp progresses. Songs are pretty short, cept phucked up phreak is like almost 8 minutes. I think this track list will appeal more to the fans of fwk in the beginning, and make the fans of fate, church of acid, and bte2 go wild in the middle, then ttg in the middle end, then BTE2 at the end again!(granted, not exactly like, it is just what the lp flow reminds me of) A balanced record with many gems! Very happy. and the hidden stuff rocks. This is one you will want to buy the CD for, to get the hidden stuff, which will not be online or on itunes and stuff like that. And Tours, Todd and I are on board so far, and hopefully Heidi. That might be it. I’m working on video clips and rehearsing the songs now.

Tripped Out..

I like IMACS and I run mine every day with no problem. I think you lucked out on that. I also use Windows parallels, so I run two OS’s simultaneously on the same machine with no need to boot anything. Sorry to hear about the cat thing, that is scary. Glad you’re OK.

  2. Sick Disease Says:

I am so hot for the new and the hidden stuff. I hope the fans are so loyal to buy it, and not burn it or whatever.

  3. misscard Says:

I myself am allergic to cats, and glad your not perished. I can’t help but notice your posts seem more collected, and optimistic. (maybe its just me?) also I like this name, “the art of breaking apart” much much more, then the previous one. Its good to see things are turning out well with the LP. can’t wait.

  4. ghostepsil Says:

waouh.. what a terrible story(you at the hospital) i can’t believe it! i know some people who are allergic (my brother for example) but not at this degree.. thanks you’re alive.. hope you the best and take care..

  5. phobos Says:

glad to hear your ok. the human body is such a mystery here your body survived years of drug abuse and you nearly get taken out by garfield or from the looks of that pic dr evils cat on steroids.

the i macs r kinda flat.ive had mine for over a year and i still haven’t gotten used to that fucking mouse. bugs.

  6. tgchan Says:

    Congrats!!! on finishing LP!!!

lol at cat… I am alergic myself and this sh1t is killing me during the summer, I keep far away from cats too because they are really really full of this alergic sh1t.

Glad to see that you survived teh ultimate poison claw attack >:D

I am on my second imac and have had not one problem with them. Though all I ever buy is refurbished units. They are cheeper and the problems are usually solved. Thats my thinking anyway. Everything I own mac is ipods, computers, iphone all refurbs. I never buy new. Sorry for your luck.

  8. deadsoul Says:

wow, might consider getting allergy shots in the future. i’ve always been allergic to cats but with shots, it came down fairly well.

i personally hate iMacs, that awful cube-macs, and mac air books. all mostly just for surfing the web and making crappy photo galleries. i have a power mac g5, and it’s beautiful! saved me on so many projects. i hate leapard, it’s caused so many malfunctions with final cut studio and window xp emulator.

as for the new lp, i’m so stocked! i’ll likely buy a few copies and pass along as gifts to my closest friends. i really want to see a tour come down to az!!!

  9. Hexfix93 Says:

I mean more for a studio that gets hot, the imac is epic fail.

It might work in a room that is kept cool, my macbook pro sure as hell does. I love my macbook. I just picked p an LG 23 inch display, 1080p, it rocks… beats upgrading to a imac for the display, it was 219 at best buy. so stoked.

The biggest reason i went back to my macbook is the touch pad, i simply love it to death.

I am going to downgrade back to tiger I think too, I ended up buying but what about boot camp and tiger? do i have to re download an old boot camp?

i only went leopard for spaces, which i barely use, and now that i got two displays i will never use. I want to sell my logic 8 studio upgrade, and just use express. I also got final cut express too, so that will work better on tiger i bet as well.

  11. Porkspam Says:

I always wondered if those really really thin comps are able to get a proper temp control going.

  12. Glittery Sawa Says:

Imacs are evil, all though I did love the PikaMac they had for a bit. Glad your ok, Allergic Reactions suck, and those epi pens are hard to use, i had a practice on for a little boy i used to babysit, and you had to slam it down for the thing to work.

  13. Arrrgh Says:

Awwwwww… thats a scary story to such a lil cat. ours is 2 month now and likes to climb on us and we look like we would wrestle with thorn hedges. :)
SO PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM CATS OF DOOM!!!

wow… i never thought that MACS could fail like this… ok i only had experiences with G4 and G5…

Can’t wait til The Art of Breaking Apart.
Im so happy that you are happy with the LP and I can’t wait to buy it, to listen to it and to freak out to it :-)

  14. magenticka Says:

You might find Tiger a pian in the ass through for installing newer software. I kept on running Tiger right into this year, and upgraded to Leopard in Spring. I like Tiger, but I got really annoyed at not being able to maintain updates. Final Cut Express is fantastic, and it’s all you need unless you’re a hollywood studio. I’m not sure about Boot Camp ’cause I only use Parallels.

  15. ZeDoktor Says:

    Bryan,

I don’t know why you are so down about Lust for blood. Personally, it is my favourite album of all time! And, that is a massive call for me, i fuckin love music mate, but that cd took me through some real tough times. Your music is amazing Bryan and I cant wait to hear the new album! If only you could tour Australia haha i know never right? Well you have a place to stay if it ever happens haha. All the best sir,

    your faithful fan,

    ZeDoktor aka Paul

  16. Porkspam Says:

I think once he’s out on tour and talking to us fans again, instead of the few that hang out here, he’ll realize how important that cd is (as well as the others) to a hell of alot of people.
I think VAC is a well loved thing by many intelligent people, but it’s not prone to sill idol worship like some other bands in the “industrial” bins..

  17. cyronix Says:

    Bootcamp won’t work on Tiger,
there was once a beta of bootcamp that worked,
but that beta has a definite expire date somewhere in 2007 or 2008, so you can’t use it anymore. You have to upgrade to Leopard to be able to use it, Apple = Microsoft :-).
I have a mac mini, sound doesn’t work anymore, and the integrated wlan is not strong, I had to an extra usb wlan to make my wlan work …
also when I bought the mini, the hardware was not really good only dvd-rom, no burner, only 512 megs, only 60 gb harddrive … I upgrade to 2 GB RAM right after I bought it, but apple doesn’t allow you to upgrade yourself, they want you to pay another 100 bucks, so they make the upgrade, else the warranty expires, but I didn’t care.
But I plan to integrate now a new hd and dvd-burner, hopefully I won’t destroy :-).
Mac is nice, but this closed hardware stuff, is risky in my mind, too risky for me, my next pc will probably be a pc, maybe with a new windows (windows 7 is said to be good) or a hacked mac os ;-), but not now, my mini is still sufficient performancewise.

  18. xq10xa Says:

    windows 7.

  19. Hexfix93 Says:

bad midi timing i bet money.

  20. John Indigo Says:

sorry about your incident glad that your ok. but im excited to see that you’ve announced the name of the album and the track list. but the tittle sounds like Nine Inch Nails Things fall apart. but it’s still a cool fucking title though. and i want to get a mac but there’s so many mac’s but i’ll check out the mac book. and is the pro logic better? and can you record stuff with a logic because i want a program that will help record guitars and bass gutair as well and keybords/synths too.

  21. thedarkpoptoys Says:

    holy shit.

i had a dream that i was over your house and you were feeding a cat and you yelled “FUCKING KITTY!” and you got bit.

i have no idea why i had this dream lol.
