VAC NEWS: Titles Change

Wow, so yeah i write lyrics, sing, then i get annoyed with it, so i scrap it, write something completely new, and now wow its coming together correctly.
The way i envisioned it. I’m finding my first attempts at vocals don’t cut it, but the 2nd and 3 start overs for the lyrics to the melodies really does help me make something more worth while.
The problem is, it’s painstakingly slow..
So now, i am working on finishing song #3. I had 3 done, but re did them to make them better, now it is.
A while back i posted song titles, wow, hardly any of them have the same titles, even the lp name changed.. It’s strange how working titles sometimes totally miss the mark… Oh well. I live and learn.
All i can say for sure is, this is the first time my voice has been so naked and up front, in all the songs so far. No hyper distortion, I don’t even sound like the same vocalist from the last vac records. It’s so strange. But I LOVE IT. I don’t mean to hype it. But I compared the song black rainbows with some old cure, off the head on the door, and my sound quality and vocals sound up there with that lp. I’m so happy about it, i never thought i could get up to a level like that but i think I have. I just hope you are ready for an lp that is kind of retro with a twist, song orinted, death and june, meets the cure and sisters of mercy, but with a strange vocalist and a more electro sound production with acoustic guitars.
I am so proud of this work so far. I want to hurry and get it out there, but I really am spending the right amount of time with the songs and lyrics and melodies to make this something you can listen to over and over and not get sick of it. NO LONG INTROS like on crushed(i think that hurt that song), everything is tight, to the point and starts right off.
Production is good in a style i have never done before. I’m happy about it, and I have not been happy about much in my life in a long long time. So this really makes me into VAC again.

The important thing is that your safe and happy. Stay clean, the drugs almost did me in. Music is always cool, just have to be sure that we keep the bad influences away. I gave up last thursday on the drugs, something really bad happened. I am done with them, almost died, still love the music though.

Sounds good. I listen to VAC everyday and I don’t get sick of it, although I must say, Lust For Blood is my least favorite of all the albums. So please do bleed into the record and leave such an unforgettable imprint of your mind that it can’t be ignored.

Hey Hex, as a fan who has grown up listening to your music I can’t wait to hear the new album from your description…never give up and never stop making music. Your music has served as an inspiration for me since I was a kid, I ran into you a couple of times at shows around Denver and you were always a humble and nice guy, no bullshit rockstar attitude and always willing to talk to fans. I just wanted to say thanks for all the years of excellent music, inspiration, and for signing my Neuralblastoma when I was an annoying little 15 year old kid.

Sounds like it’s gona be an interesting project. Fantastic to hear that you’re getting back into music making. Will be good to hear less distorted vocals as well, although perhaps it was part of the VAC we know and love so much. Either way good luck with it!

I really like this combo! Sisters sounding VAC is creamtastic enough, but throwing Death In June AND The Cure in there is almost beyond comprehension! I get the vibe though, … I think. I can’t wait!!!!
Oh, and I really like LFB, Wound was touching, it was like VAC does Testure to me, Parasite was brooding and fun, discolored eyes just screamed, “i WILL kick the shit out of you” it was like droney terror body music, I actually liked the intro to Crushed, but I agree that directness with that style would be appropriate for a whole album. It worked as a good break and re-directer, so to speak. And I found Disconnected Nightmare to be angry and dancey. Blood has some tough guitar parts and madness. And I can’t forget Psychoactive Landscape! As the song ended I noticed my jaw somewhere around the floor: it was emotional and the transitions! so psychadelic… at least I thought so.
Hexfix, will the bonus downloads/songs you mentioned in a previous entry be anything like psychoactive landscape if still includeded with the new lp?

I liked Lust for Blood a lot, I think more then Hex Angel because it sort of really had the old psychedelic sound I love about old VAC that was somewhat absent on Hex. It also had several aggressive songs that were extremely trippy and some of the best VAC yet like Kashimar Krack Krishna (sounds like a Toxic Coma song title…), more aggressive in a non-direct manner then a take a chainsaw and knives to you sort of way like on Fun with Knives.
Psychoactive Landscape is truly one of the masterpieces on the album indeed especially while on ACID!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful old fashioned trippy elektro that Bryan executes perfectly.

Everything sounds good, cept one thing.
I loved the intro to Crushed (it’s what I liked most about it).
I just hope you don’t trim it down too much – the longer intros in your songs really build up that emotional feeling (See “There Is No God”) that is lacking in modern music. Also, it keeps the hipster crowds away :)
Either way, I’m still ordering the album the first day I can! Thanks for your hard work.

Can’t wait to hear/buy it!

I really like lfb. Alot actually. Although crushed is actually not one of my favs, I love all of the other tracks. I don’t know. Everyone seem to love crushed. I sometimes wonder what is wrong with me…? Oh well. I am certainly curious about the new album now, especially since it seems to have drastically changed. Even the melodies.

I am very excited to hear that VAC is debuting another album. It inspires me to work yet harder on my music. But there is one thing that I often ask myself and that you have not yet mentioned in your verbose musing of your music; what kind of music am I producing? The reason I point this out is that I worry you might be feeling too much sway from outward sources against your music production. If the answer to that question is anything other than “Pop Music” I dont think that you should have any reason to worry about whether your intros are “too long” or not.

I’m ready for the new approach in VAC.: ),If anyone knows how to listen to music, and knows what VAC is really about.it’s always about taking a new approach, and stepping back away From all the Bizarre aspects from The Acid feeling in Vac, and flow more a clean and new Velvety feeling aound. Brian has shown what he can do and shows The So called Industrial scene how its done that’s all i gotta say.The reason i love VAC so much is because of how, everything is perfected and adjusted, and the music is very well thought out. It’s like Dwayne R.Goetell,Through master minded Electronic Terror,. Bryan your the Soul Child Of EBM,Industrial what ever you wanna call it.That really gave hope to the scene For Harsh Electronic Musick for me, you saved me after puppy was destroyed. And gave a little hope and faith to The industrial scene.looking forward to more of your Art/Blackrainbows.

Have you thought about making music with an erotica feel to it? Slut stood out because of that.
