Lucky me. I got to drive David Thrussell(the man behind snog) all around colorado the last time He was here. We went shopping for country records from ages past so he could release them on his label in australia that releases old country records, usually really political and fun. It was great fun. But below, is the video and song that really makes me love him so much. I was a casual fan, then this record came out, and it won me over as one of my favorite bands making music today.

The Human Germ is one of my favorite songs of all time, and my favorite snog song. There are a lot of great snog lps and songs. I don’t want you to think that the rest of his work pales it’s just that this song has this deep special meaning for me, it touches my very soul. This is the best misanthropic anthem I have ever heard. It fits with my philosophy perfectly.

Snog is not like other bands that typically run a formula into the ground. Instead snog breaks ground on every cd, and changes it’s sounds. This is mid way into their vast catalog. I absolutely love the Leonard Cohen styleish vocals and music, mixed in with a trip hopish bjork kind of electronic sound with hints of the band’s industrial roots. My favorite song on the lp is “The Human Germ” and I also really like, Hooray!! another misanthrope anthem. Light yet Refreshing has very cool guitar hooks and a great message as well. The Prole song is great too. I love the social commentary on This is Capitalism as well.

This is one of the best CDs in my collection I give this a 5 out of 5. Buy now! Click Here to buy Snog: Buy ME I’ll Change Your Life DRM FREE 256 mp3. Thanks so much for this review. I will buy it. I’ve only touched the surface of Snog in the past, but I am a fan of Black Lung.

i’ve been a fan of snog since third mall from the sun.what i liked about snog was the art work they had inside the album.the mcdonalds military stuff was too funny.i think theres too many musicians who r just like”fuck the art work”i think it translates well in all facets when musicians pay attention to every detail and don’t neglect anything.like art work or videos and live performances.you can tell with bands don’t give a shit about art work because sometimes in albums like that even if they start out good they kind of just fizzle out towards the end. or who when u go to there site it says”be back soon” or something lame like that. your probably a good example of how u don’t neglect any aspect of VAC.and it shows, the website pretty much has everything you ever need to know about anything.

It sounds very tacky but I’d have loved to be the third person in that car :-) I’ve listened to Snog (and Thrussel’s other projects Black Lung and Soma, both recommended) for years, for the truths in his music and the awesome sounds, and VAC is great when I need inspiration for my writing.

My day… um, night, was just made a little more special. Thanks for having this blog!

    great and smart!
nice to hear something that isn’t about how many cars someone rolls in or crying about so-n-so. very politically smart. human germ’s video is awesome. i like those dirty effects, kinda makes us look germy as portrayed in the lyrics. cleaver.

Kudoos for Bryan for promoting other bands. I really like Snog but also VAC which also creates their own universe, something other bands can’t even think of.

Snog’s always reminded me a bit of Depeche Mode in a good way.
