Concert: Ladytron: 2008. Hexfix93’s take.

So. Last night, I went out with Todd. It was his birthday. We went to ladytron :) We saw them the last time they came through for the witching hour cd. This time, they played a lot of the new LP. Which I must say, I find kind of repetitive and simple. Not that I don’t like the new stuff, but it seemed a little bit more low key or something. I have yet to buy the new LP, but when I do, I will review it first thing. Probably sometime this week. Anyway, The live show was good, but not quite as good as the last time I saw them. They had some cool lights, and it sounded great. Helen(the main vocalist) was really strong and sang very well and in key. Mira(the 2nd vocalist) was not as great, out of key, and needed more compression on her vocals. Mira’s performance wasn’t horrid, it just wasn’t up to what Helen laid out the whole night(Helen was spot on and perfect the whole night). I loved when they played softpower, for me, it was the best song of the night. Playgirl was great, as was international dateline. 17 was cool and the crowd went crazy. I was a tad sad that they did not play beauty, evil, or sugar. :( Oh well. I still really enjoyed the show. The new lp is ok from what I heard live, so I will buy it as soon as I get a chance. I work 40hrs a week now, so i barely have any time to shop and write music now. I like my job so it’s ok. I highly recommend checking out ladytron live. They use a lot of analogs live, and the sound is fat and rips your head off. The strings shimmer in analog glory as well. You can trainspot a lot of kick ass analog gear on their stage. Good fun. Thumbs up on ladytron!

I have heard the new album and I must say the thing that struck me first and ‘capacity’ innate of Ladytron to continuously innovate.
a good point in your side.
unfortunately I’ve never been able to see Live

I saw Ladytron in L.A. when they were here May 30th. It was awesome :) the lack of “Beauty” did kinda get to me as well though :( I think Mira did a great job, at least the night I went. Maybe they put more effort into the performance that particular night, for all I know.
