This is going to sound, erm, strange. Coming from an artist in this scene. But i honestly only like 2 bands from the more recent form of EBM and industrial. Wumpscut being the first, and Covenant being the second. For me, this is the most solid wumpscut cd he ever put out. Not one bad song. From start to finish it delivers.

Wumpscut knew how to make very pretty songs like, is it you, and angel. I’ll stick to this lp, even though he has many other lps that are very good as well. I love how he can sound so caustic, and then so beautiful as well. Something so few artists in this scene can pull off.

My favorite wumpscut song of all is “IS IT YOU”. This song is so amazing. I love how the song builds in this kind of depressing trance, with powerful metallic beats with big snares. I love the swelling sound in the background that hypnotizes you. But the chorus, wow. I mean I only wish I could come up with a chorus that catchy. I always liked the frantic pace of his songs. Memorable song structures, music and melody. This is not mindless yelling and ranting.

I still see wumpscut as the brother act to Velvet Acid Christ. We both have our own unique sounds. I still respect rudy very much through all these years. We both hit the scene around the same time. Both are dark and evil and kind of industrial. Wumpscut and VAC can both make super pretty songs that you cannot expect to hear on an industrial lp.

I also love the track war. So powerful and menacing. I love the creepy baseline and the noisy percussive loop. Not many bands in the scene can match the evil and intensity that wumpscut emits in most of his releases, especially his older work, especially this lp. The perfect blend of mean and evil, elegance and beauty. Rudy can really show off emotion in a way that doesn’t sound contrived, rehearsed, or shallow. It sounds very polished and pro. His vocals are so strong. My favorite tracks are, IS IT YOU, WOMB, WAR, EMBRYODEAD, SLAVE TO EVIL. I give this a 5 out of 5. and then some. Buy now! Click Here to buy EMBROYDEAD by WUMPSCUT. excellent ^^ i love “is it you” too. i love this “blutkind”album .. and specially the song called “hang him higher”
for industrial bands, germany has a lot of good bands (Schattenschlag, feindflug… )

Yeah, :Wumpscut: ;) Bryan finally reviewed something I know :)

On this LP my favourite songs are “Golgotha”, “Embryodead”, “War”, “Pest” and “Is It You”. I also recommend the remix album to this one, “Born Again” (it also includes alternative mixes from Bunkergate 7).

I still love :Wumpscut:, though some of his newer stuff isn´t as great as the older stuff. But time changes the sound, better than Suicide Commando (to me it sounds the same for over 10 years now).

My favourite album from :Wumpscut: is “Music for a slaughtering Tribe”, my least favourite album is “Cannibal Anthem”. I still love listening to the demos, collected on “The Mesner Tracks”, “Blutkind”, an so on.

I wish there would be some kind of collaboration between Bryan and Rudy. But Rudy isn´t vegan, so…

Many beautiful feelings related to Embryodead.
I welcome in particular the ‘empowering’ in keeping the atmosphere suffused, an omen all ‘advent of syncopated moments as for example in war.

Down where we belong and Slave to evil are my favourite

one of my fav :w: albums. I like some other songs better from other albums, but this album from start to finish is strong. Rudy is one who surprises me with every album. Every album is very distinct with in its own, something that can’t be said of many artist who’s songs usually sound the same, album in and album out. It works for some artist, and some of them i am a fan of, but it’s what makes groups like :w: amazing.

  8. deadsoul Says:

never heard of them, just so many acts out there. but so far from listening to these videos, this does sound really good. i’m impressed. i’m really digging “Is it you.”

  9. magenticka Says:

Damn Amazon MP3 purchases are limited to U.S. customers only! Also, I can’t get this on itunes as I live in the UK.

  10. Flaxman Says:

…………..it’s not available from Tiscali music downloads either. They do have a few :Wumpscut: things but not this one. There are some secondhand CD’s on Amazon.co.uk. Better be quick though if you want one at a reasonable price: the most expensive is over 30 quid! Good Luck.

  11. lust4blood Says:

Good review! You hit the nail on the head perfect. VAC is still my favorite though. Don’t think that you’re not creating amazing tracks too. I’d compare “Angel” to “Pain” or “Broken Mind.”

From what samples I’ve heard from :W:’s new album… It actually sounds pretty good. The last two album haven’t been great, only good.

Bunkertor Gate 7 is my fav album by :W:

I’m curious for you to post a review of your fav Metallica album.

  12. rosenrot Says:

I love the dance version of angel. He just winds it up and up but with the same beauty as the standard version. Rudy is amazing. Maybe he putting out too much too fast now but his catalog is sick. His top 20 or even 30 songs may be the best.. of anyones.. vac and W are really brother bands. One keept leading me to the other..

  13. AcidGodFuck Says:

Wumpscut and VAC are married in my mind. What I like about Wump and VAC is that both have this awesome command of song structure, it can be so fucking noisy yet it’s always done tastefully with melody lines for full effect. To me, there’s only a handful of good electroindustrial bands out there. So many fucking copies/knockoffs I want to shoot myself!

Embryodead is probably the most depressing album I’ve ever heard in my life….In a good way! I think the message of the album is what really drives it home. Profound. I’m emotionally drained after listening to it.

  14. DAYS in EXILE Says:

    My favorite Wumpscut album ever

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love Embryodead. It doesn’t get any better than this in my opinion. Five out of five stars doesn’t even do it justice. My favorite song is the title track.

  15. deadsoul Says:

just enjoyed this style so much, i had to get various albums. it would definitely be a great tour duo.

  16. Flaxman Says:

This CD arrived yesterday. I’m absolutely gobsmacked; like stumbling across a goldmine. “Is It You?” OMG. Unalloyed masterpiece from first note till last. Tell me there’s more where this came from……
