Synths: Velvet Acid Christ Roland SH-2 Demo, Futile riff.

February 14th, 2008 by Hexfix93

Updated, high res hifi divx version of the sh2 futile demo..

Ok, i made a video of the sh-2 using the riffs from futile to show off the sh2., i love this synth! I don’t need a moog, when you have a sh-2, you will never need one. Rolands are the heart and soul of VAC. I HEART ROLAND! well, old roland..

Here is the high quality divx version of the video on stage6. Click here for the Divx version of the video, needs divx plugin

Divx plug in makes my browser act weird, so i put a link to it and the youtube one back as the default.

moogs are too elephanty for me.. to big.. like a muscle man on the beach. the rolands are more like hockey players, lean and powerful.. ahahaha… moog = roids, rolands = refined..

    both are great.

i prefer the roland.. moogs a great.. just not my cup of tea after all.. it’s a simple taste thing..

I for one, care! This site is now amazing. Love the layout, the regular updates etc. Took me a while to register to haven’t been able to comment up to now. So, yeah, the SH2, I got mine deliverd to London UK from Tokyo a few months back. I set it up with my Kenton CV/Gate and what can I say. Snappy as hell, love it to bits. It’s a huge, biting, aggressive sound. I’d say mine is a 10 out of 10 condition wise. Not one scratch and kept in a box for the last 20 years. It’s so easy to program too. Best bass synth ever made?

Roland is the heart of my music too haha. Since, besides the work station, I have two Rolands, and with those I have done my best work. When I had mostly Korgs, everything was too cold and thin. No power, no soul. Other synths I had or tried - Alesis Micro/Ion, Access Virus TI, Yamaha AN1x… none of them satisfied me like the Rolands. And I’m pretty sure if any of my Rolands get sold, it’ll probably be to buy another Roland. I agree a hundred times over on this one, and I really really want the SH-2, that and a Jupiter 6 or Jupiter 8! Thanks for posting, this was dope.

First time poster… I don’t have any knowledge about synthesizers, I just know that they sound great. I would love to be able to gain access to and learn how to use one some day. I need more hobbies aside from graphic arts… (wishing for a better place to post, but the forums won’t allow me access). A comment on your music in general; I first started listening to your music back in 2003 starting with TTG. Discovered Dimension8 by accident and wish for more. Dimension8 is by far, the best album. Especially when you’re studying for tests in a class like Intro to Chemical Dependency (no pun intended here, just would love to interview someone who has had real experimental experience since I don’t know anyone who has).

Nice - the response of that SH-2 is badass. I had a mini for a couple years and could never get it to have that kind of response, the envelopes just seemed too slow. It had a beautiful growly sound but thats pretty useless if it won’t hit an attack properly.

Using a Korg poly 61-m (DCO’s but hey) and pretty happy with that. Run it through a Art Tube MP preamp then into a motu 828 into my mac and logic 5. Large and evil when layered with an ESQ 1 and microkorg.

Had to sell the Moog and my Arp AXXE to pay fucking rent - college and analog do not play well together. It pisses me off but hey.. keep up the great work.

in school, we thought we were badass with the Polaris Chroma. i only wish i’d actually learned to play back then!

i really like the sound you get out of your synths, they are just amazing and original. i’m trying to get my own music career off the ground but i don’t have the cash to buy the analog equipment that you have. i just have a cheap yammha keyboard for beginners and a microKORG. What equipment would you recommend for someone who is just starting out and wants a great sound but has a limited buget.

    watched it again, always great
