News..

What is new? I had to fix my modular. The plan b oscillators would not old scaling calibration in my modular set up. So i traded them in for the MFB OSC-01 triple dco for super stable osc. And a moog freqbox for a wild heavily fat drifty osc that have way more beef than any modular osc on the market today. I also picked up the Polivoks filter, didn’t like it at first, but learned what it was good at, resonant bass. I will write reviews of this stuff soon so look for it. This held up production. I think i like my gear setup now, but i really miss having an analog poly synth. I have my SH-2, and my modular, and my FR Revolution for analogs. But it’s not enough. I really want a polysix for strings. But those are a pain in the ass, I need midi hahhahaha. I might sell some more stuff.
I have no idea what musical direction I am going into. I am noticing that lately I am a huge fan of death in june, new young pony club, mstrkrft, the knife, LCD Soundsystem, Digitalism, The Horrors, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ladytron and the 80s new wave and goth. Lust for blood was good, but dark, and i think vac needs to lighten up a little and make catchier songs. FWK worked that way. I don’t want to just do techno or industrial. I want to make timeless songs that don’t always fit into one genre. I’m running out of time. I’m looking in other directions for inspiration now, because I feel the goth industrial ebm thing is way over played out and over saturated with home studio acts. I’m really not into clubbing anymore because of it. Who knows. I hope i can still progress and have an edge that is not just industrial and techno. I want more than this for my project. I dont want to make complete gloomy records anymore. I want a balance of songs that touch on all moods and ideas and emotions. VAC may drastically change.. who knows. If I don’t pick up production on the new LP soon, there wont be any live shows, so i had better figure this out quick..

*nods* agreed, i am a girrrrrrl so i have no interest in game reviews, the music ones are nice but you can put them elsewhere, i have to agree its a pain to navigate, it feels cluttered! & i would like a t-shirt available from Europe or the UK :p
Get on with the new cd, we want a tour god damn it!!!!

yeah, i think changing the site a bit might work for you. It can be confusing going to velvetacidchrist.com and reading about depeche mode or playstation 3. I think most people go to velvetacidchrist.com to read about velvet acid christ.
Cant wait to hear the record though.

i can’t see you writing anything that i won’t enjoy. Every record that you have released i have purchased. every record is different, in a different direction. so i never expect to hear the same “ole vac”..which is odd with any group that has ever made music. please keep on pushing the envelope…looking forward to hopefully catching you on tour or at least hearing the new album when it comes out.

The existing layout suits people who visit every day because the newest content is at the top and it changes contantly so the site looks new and different every few days. The regular visitor can take it or leave it as he or she pleases.
However, I agree that the first time visitor will almost certainly have an expectation of finding information about VAC in the most prominent place. And VAC information is surely the one topic that ALL visitors are most interested in.
Two possible options: keep it as it is but have a permanent WELCOME message at the top explaining the purpose of the site and directing those who are only seeking VAC news to an eye-catching link. OR, as you have suggested, always have VAC news at the top, perhaps followed by a message that directs people’s attention to the newest “other” content. I favour the second option.

I enjoy the reviews you had on the main page. It is still pretty simple of a layout as I cant see why anyone couldnt find anything here unless they are a fucktard. LOL Just keep updating your other pages as well cause I thing they were refreshing.
Thanks

I have been listening to your music for 12 years now and have enjoyed everything I have heard. Albeit mostly the dark and trancey beats are more my thing, I’m an open minded person and enjoy all types of music. Lack of Direction and uncertainty are tough icebergs to navigate, but if the exploration into your undiscovered musical potential is as interesting and deep as your journey has been so far, I’m certain that I and many other fans will find your music just as captivating. I’ve never met you, but what you wrote is something I think anyone can relate to. I’ll be listening to anything you put out in the future. Thanks.

I like the thought of VAC lightening up with catchier tracks. I havne’t heard VAC on the dance floor for a long while, so it would be great with some fresh material.
As long as it’s kept unique, but I don’t think that’s ever been a problem for Velvet Acid Christ…
