This is a cult classic. Started as an anime, but then a live action film was made out of it. I prefer the live action film honestly. The goriest kung fu movie ever made. Very cheesy. But the best kind of cheese. I rank this up there with evil dead 2 in the gore factor. This is one of my favorite martial arts films. This came out in 1991 in asia. I think 1993 in america.

The main character is blessed with super human strength. He can punch through people and also punch them and make them explode. This movie contains some of my all time favorite fight scenes. Intestines are used as a weapon. I mean it’s pretty far out. The story takes place in a prison. A dystopian world where global warming has ruined society. My favorite scene in this movie is where the main character’s arm get’s cut, then in the middle of a fight, he ties his severed tendons back together with one hand and his mouth. Hhahaahahaahah.

If you are into super violent and gory films, this is not the film you want to pass up. I’m seriously amazed that most people do not even know about this film and that is why I decided to shed some light on it. In my top 10 for gory and horror films. Be sure and buy this, I have watched it 20 times at least, I show to people every chance I get.. Click here to buy Story of Ricky on DVD.

I’m not really mad keen on this genre but on your say so I’ve put it at the top of my Lovefilm list. “Spirited Away” and “Suspiria” came today so I’ll have plenty to watch instead of the rubbish that’s on the telly.

If you have not already seen it, check out 2LDK. It must be one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen, but I can’t recall if it was actually meant to be a comedy.

    Anyway, good violent fun.
