Movies: Suspiria, Horror. Disease Factory’s Take.

Pretty, Pretty, Pretty. Ok, my favorite horror film of all time is this one. Suspiria. It is cheesy yeah, but in a good way I think. The sets are so colorful, the use of colored lighting is what sets this horror film apart from the rest. And ov course, you have all those cool camera angel views that Dario Argento is famous for. Yes, this is from the 1970s and it shows. But the dvd from anchor bay is amazing, it looks phenomenal.
I love the music in this film, it is so unique and strange and different. Goblin did the sound track. The music creates a lot of the tension in this film. This is a cult classic for sure. Made in Italy, home of the best horror. Graphic, very, the kill scenes in this movie are very graphic and surreal. They do a great job of making it creepy. It takes place in a German Ballet school with mean instructors that are intimidating as well. NOT FOR KIDS.

Witches. I love witches. This is a great witch movie. If you like surreal horror with a witch theme, do not pass this up. This is a vintage film now, but don’t let that fool you, the best horror was made in the 70s and early 80s. Modern horror has no idea how to make something scary and interesting. Dario Argento is my favorite horror director. This is some of his best work, I also love some of his other films as well like Opera, and Tenebre. Suspiria doesn’t even look dated to me. Be sure you get the Uncensored version of this. The anchor bay version I have is uncut. With Argento films, it’s very important to get the uncut uncensored versions. So do some research. I know that you don’t like Disney, but won’t you acknowledge the debt owed by Argento to Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”? Some authorities cite it as Argento’s primary source of influence for Suspiria”. What do you think? It’s been years since I saw it but now that you have prompted me, I’ll take another look. Thanks

A note to UK/European fans:I rented “Suspiria” from “Lovefilm” and the version they sent was the Anchor Bay one recommended by DF.
