Anime: Hellsing OVA, Disease Factory’s Take.

In my opinion, the 2nd best anime ever made. The main character reminds me of how andrew eldridge used to look way back in the day. This is a mega cheesy anime, but in that super cool way. The boss fights are great and build up and get better and better each time. Most of the characters are really fun and neat to watch, tons of swearing, this is a dark and evil anime. If you’re into the macabre, horror, and vampires, you owe it to your self to check this out.
There are a lot of trippy kill scenes, when alacarte unlocks his powers, he turns into shadows, eyes and mouths in this super psychedelic way. This is a decent sized series, and worth it, I have watched this over 4 times, so I know it stands the test of time. and every time I watch it, it gets my psyched.

You really gotta see this, I don’t care how, it’s easily worth owning. One of the best dark anime’s you can get, especially if your a goth. At the end, you find out who he really is, and it is awsome! I give this a 9 out of 10. I give this a 5 out of 5. YOU MUST BUY THIS! Click here to buy.

i havent seen OVA yet. but i have seen all of the Hellsing TV series (the regular anime series). i have 3 of the graphic novels, but i really prefer watching than reading (if i want to read, ill watch subtitles lol).
but i agree, this is an action packed anime, its bloody, its dark, and its got a few bad asses in it (like walter!)
and when alucard turns into the doglike being, wow he is ruthless. he is unstoppable. you think youve killed him, and then he just dissolves into bats. i have a poster of him with a bunch of eyes in the background. i like the play on his name too (its “dracula” backwards)
its hard to decide which is more BRUTAL, hellsing or metalocalypse. oh and crispin freeman, the english voice actor, plays Itachi in naruto. i know your a big naruto fan too, so im letting you know that incase it ever crossed your mind. =)

the tv series and the ova are different plot wise…
the 3rd disc of the OVA follows the manga, where alucard goes to africa to fight nazis. and in the tv series, he just fights some stupid voodoo guy that was not from the manga
the 3rd disc is the best disc of the three, it’s 10 times more violent than the first two, and watching everyone get all pissed off and having alucard kill everyone is great, especially the last fight scene and the scene where all of the bodies get impaled one by one on the flag poles.
there is a fourth disc in the works ^_^
after seeing this, i give the ova a 10 and the tv series a 5
the ova owns :)

I’ve had the tv series for a while now, and even after watching that, Alucard was one of my favorite characters in anime. I love his Seen-it-all swagger and he can make one hell of a mess in a fight. I’ve just recently picked up the first DVD of the OVA and I’m ramped about getting the others. As if it hasn’t been said enough, the animation is top notch!

revstate: ok, i understand it now. i do remember in vol.3 of the graphic novel, alucard was in another country and fighting nazis. the series is also called Hellsing Ultimate too.
and the voodoo guy you mentioned, i believe you are referring to Incognito?

This looks very cool. I’ve heard about it for years and never really checked it out. I’ve gotten a lot more into anime recently so I’ll be sure to watch this first chance I get.

Wow, I had no idea Hellsing was this violent. I really liked what I saw there, and I’ve been looking for new anime to check out. I only like creepy, violent stuff. Side note: that’s one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs, hehe, I love the bassline in the beginning, it’s sick!

Heh, I’ve seen both the TV and OVA versions, OVA blows the TV version way out there. The animation is sooo much better and so much funnier/weirder. But then, I must still give credit to the TV series since that’s what got me into the anime in the first place.
