Video: Roland Jp-8080 Demo by Velvet Acid Christ.

November 21st, 2007 by Hexfix93

Yes, i decided to show off some of the patches i made, forgive the sound quality, but this is just to give you an idea of it. I recorded it with just the mic in the camera. Don’t care, you can tell what the sound is like, if you like it, go buy one. no big deal. I love this thing for strings and aggro electronic sounds… Very glassy, glossy, and metallic sounding. I like it. Enjoy.

Wow, that sounds so VAC. Nice.

What I love best about the JP8080 is the Triangle Mod and the Feedback Oscillator, the sweeping pads you can get with the Super Saw on HPF, and also, the crazy low frequency fx you can get by using the X-Mod/Robot Control. Incredibly versatile synth, people should be getting this instead of the Korg MS2000 - it runs circles around. Also, the filters are fucking godlike.

I just got my 8080 back from Roland. Of all things, the fucking amp attack slider was busted. Anyhow, this synth is GREAT. The first thing I noticed is the bass you can get out of it. A supersaw with a square stacked on will bite like the hounds of hell! I still have a long ways to go in terms of learning it, but I can’t wait to start integrating it into my setup.
